“You may be wondering how some movie no one’s heard of has caused such a hullabaloo. Well, as it turns out, the film was screened on an Egyptian Salafist television channel. Obviously the Salafists — many of whom, like Zawahiri were released from prison by Morsi, wanted to stir up anti-US violence on the eve of 9/11. So if the film is responsible for the violence, a finger needs to be pointed to its chief distributor — Al Qaida’s Egyptian friends and members.”

The overwhelming evidence suggests that the movie was NOT funded by Jewish donors. Bacile himself is not an Israeli - the Israeli government confirmed that they have no citizens by that name. It seems likely that the movie was principally (or entirely) funded by Coptic Christians and Evangelicals. According to the actors who starred in the film, Bacile himself is likely a Coptic Christian. He's identifying himself as Israeli in a disgraceful attempt to shield direct Muslim anger at the film against Israel and Jews, rather than Copts.

Note: I have no problems with "Bacile," or whatever his name is, making this film. But I do have an issue with him trying to protect his own community by wrongly claiming that the film was a Jewish/Israeli project.
