“...it makes it impossible to tell what to hope for anymore....”

I guess I would have to say that I don’t “hope” for anything anymore. I watch events as they unfold, and I try to take control of the small things and area of responsibility that I DO have control over, and I realize that there is much that is out of my hands.

We can all influence other people, educate people, and in turn be influenced and educated by others; we do it everyday out here.

Even the trolls that pop in and out of here to cause trouble, they’re influenced to react. People read these things we write and it influences and affects them either positively or negatively.

However the election turns out, we have limited control of it beyond each of our single votes.

I do have faith, though, that our side will win, ultimately - either by the ballot box or, should it come down to the vulgar brawl, the very last box of the Four Boxes of Liberty

If not this election, then another.

This is a battle in a longer war, brother. And it’s an ancient war - one group of people intent on imposing their will on other groups. Hell, that isn’t anything new.

The question is - what lengths are they willing to go to to do it, and what lengths are we willing to go to stop them.

At the the end of the day, that’s what it boils down to. And all you and I can do is be prepared in your heart, your soul, and your mind, to either stand up, give in, or sit on the fence and watch out for which flag to fly - and then live whatever time is left to you dealing with the consequences of either decision.

I’m not going to worry about it. It’s a waste of time and energy that could be better spent preparing my family and my little corner of the world for what crap comes our way - as much as it can be prepared.

I’ll do my part in this fiasco called Life in 2012 America. I’m an American. Like Webster said - I was born American, I live as an American, and I will die as an American. No one can ever take that from us unless WE let them. No matter who gets in the White House, I will ALWAYS BE an American, and that honor and privilege was handed down to me by better men than than either the R’s or the D’s will ever be.

That’s why we’ll win. They HATE what and who we are; we love who we are, and we love the country that was handed to us by other people who loved it so much that they gave up their lives to preserve it. It was their John 3:16 moment for their country and the people that they loved, so that it would go on and on, and they gave it willingly believing that we would worthwhile caretakers to maintain it.

In the end, the other side will NEVER have that kind of love. All they have is hate and anger and jealousy, and eventually that will eat them alive. The sad part is that all that hate, anger, and jealousy will take many lives with them in the end.

F*** ‘em. Pity them, and then bury their asses if they set it off. If the dogs of war are unleashed...well, then war to the knife and knife to the hilt and set your heart to stone until it’s over.

Ultimately, we all go. But sometimes you do get a say in how you go.

One FReeper said it best on a thread a while back: “On my feet, with my rifle in hand, like an American should.”

I fully agree.

Drama? Over the top? Maybe. But it is what it is, nevertheless.

I have been assured many times that if Obama wins this then country will no longer exist. Can we still be Americans if there is no longer an America? It may be that when the new country ‘The People's Republic of Diversity’ is formed by Obama the 'leaders' (all Dems) may make up their own citizenship rules so they can put recent ‘immigrants’ from Mexico ahead of us, in the names of diversity and fairness and social justice.

What will we be then?

For some reason some of your comments bring out the contrarion in me :)

How about we go storm the Liby embassy for fun? Make those Libys feel at home here? LOL
