President Barack Obama used Air Force One to conduct a policy loop-de-loop Wednesday, asserting in a CBS interview that he supports Americans’ right to criticize Islam, following almost 18 hours of determined condemnation from Team Romney and damaging news from Egypt and Libya.

“We believe in the First Amendment,” Obama told CBS’s Steve Kroft during an interview arranged days earlier.

“It is one of the hallmarks of our Constitution that I’m sworn to uphold, and so we are always going to uphold the rights for individuals to speak their mind,” he said, according to a transcript narrated by White House spokesman Jay Carney

This is after General Dempsey (who coincidentally met with Obama on the same day to coordinate) strong-armed the pastor.

“...strong-armed the pastor.”

Who had absolutely nothing to do with any of this. Dempsey is a walking freakshow. That he would command troops is a frightening proposition.

On his way to Vegas, baby. Viva, Las Vegas! An ambassador and others assassinated in the Middle East? It’s Vegas, baby! I wonder if any of the Choom Gang or friends from Man’s Country were there, too.

DoJ official refuses to denounce demands for Saudi-style blasphemy law The Daily Caller ^ | 7/27/12 | Neil Munro

President Barack Obama’s top civil rights official repeatedly declined to support religious free speech during a July 27 congressional hearing, despite repeated questioning from Arizona Republican Rep. Trent Franks, who chairs the House’s constitution subcommittee.

Tom Perez, the progressive who runs the Justice Department’s civil rights office, refused to answer the questions posed by Franks.

“Will you tell us… that this administration’s Department of Justice will never entertain or advance a proposal that criminalizes speech against any religion?” Frank asked four times.

Perez refused to answer, saying “it is a hard question, in the sense that when you make threats against someone.” Perez then suggested he would respond to draft legislation from the committee, but again refused to answer Frank’s question about free speech rights.

Franks’ questions were prompted by an October 2011 Daily Caller report, which described a D.C. meeting between Perez and hardcore Islamists, including Mohamed Magid, the Sudan-born, Saudi-trained head of the Islamic Society of North America. At the end of the public meeting, Perez called more meetings with the Islamists, even though he had watched while Magid called for legal punishment of people who criticize Islamic texts that call for violence against non-Muslims and for the subordination of women to men. I’m sworn to uphold, and so we are always going to...

he's just speaking his true belief that once the Constitution is at last completely ignored, THEN, we won't always have to uphold those 1st amendment rights anymore.

The house has a “constitution subcommittee”? Judging by the sort of laws Congress passes: look for ways around it.

This is where we have reached: the President has to reiterate that he believes in the First Amendment. This entire clown administration needs to go as soon as possible.

He condemns free speech in the rose garden at a press conference and 18 hours later sends a memo saying he defends it. What was it he said about Romney, something like he shoots first and aims later. He said Romney did not have his facts right. In the rose garden Obama stated “ This film is not representative of who we are and our values.” Did he see the film, what part was offensive. Maybe he should have some facts before he shoots off his mouth.

Surely Mr. President, you jest. You have failed to uphold the U.S. Constitution on numerous occasions, why all of a sudden, do you decide to uphold this particular amendment? You dumb ass.
