Weak resolve enables jihadists

Attacks on Tuesday against American missions in Cairo and Benghazi fit into a familiar pattern of Islamist intimidation and Western appeasement that goes back to the Salman Rushdie affair in 1989. The Obama administration's supine response to the murder of American diplomats increases the likelihood of further such assaults.

The Rushdie crisis suddenly erupted when the ruler of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini, put a death edict on a novelist for having written a magical realist novel, The Satanic Verses, declaring that the book was "against Islam, the Prophet, and the Koran." That incident was then followed by a long list of similar assaults – concerning a U.S. Supreme Court frieze in 1997, American evangelical leader Jerry Falwell in 2002, Newsweek in 2005, the Danish cartoons in 2006, Pope Benedict XVI also in 2006, Florida preacher Terry Jones in 2010, and U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan early in 2012. In each of these cases, the perceived insult to Islam led to acts of violence, sometimes against Westerners but more often among Muslims themselves.

It’s their religion that tells them to fight against us.

So if we are going to fight this war, we have to fight a full scaled in your face “CULTURE” war.

Every time they act up, bomb their cities with scripture, bomb there cities with the gospel. “Overcome evil with good.” Give the people something different to believe in.

Stand up for free speech by exercising it. Pointing out how evil their leaders are for calling on Jews to be killed or for killing embassy workers simply because somewhere someone in a land that has free speech made a movie critical of Islam.

Stand up for religious expression by expressing it. Drop gospels and pamplets from the air over their cities giving them something different than Islam. Drop voice cards that quote Jesus.

The jihadists are making their move now, just in case their enabler is gone from the White Mosque around the end of the year.

In early 1979, days after the Shah's regime collapsed, the US ambassador to Afghanistan was murdered. Carter did nothing. Later that year, the hostages were taken in Iran.

The Gaddafi and Mubarak regimes fell a short while ago and the US ambassador to Lybia has now been murdered. Zer0 apologizes.

The only way to stop this cycle is for governments to stand firmly on principle: "Citizens have freedom of speech, which specifically means the right to insult and annoy. The authorities will protect this right. Muslims do not enjoy special privileges but are subject to the same free-speech rules as everyone else. Leave us alone."

I strongly disagree: since this bunch of freaks has been at war with us since the 70's at the very least, the only way to stop this cycle is deport every Muslim in this country and nuke their countries. Time to treat it like a war!

Jimmy Carter's presidency was doomed by the Iranian hostage crisis after the US embassy in Tehran was stormed by Islamist extremists following the Iranian revolution.

A year after the 52 Americans were taken hostage, Carter lost the 1980 election. The hostages were released just as President Ronald Reagan, who defeated Carter, was sworn in.

Since the ‘70’s? These misanthropic apes have been at war with the Christian west since roughly 600 AD! Most of what is now the ‘Islamic world’ was Christian territory conquered by Mohammed or the early Rashidun or Umayyad Caliphates.

Never forget, Egypt was Christian and spoke Egyptian and Greek (or Coptic) before the Islamic conquest. Turkey was the heart of the Byzantine Christian empire before the Islamic conquest. (Now they speak Arabic - Egyptian is a dead language). And Europeans first fought Muslims on the plains of Spain and France 400 years before the First Crusade, (which was originally in response to a plea for help from the rump Byzantine Empire, which was under yet another assault from Islamic hordes.)

Either way, it’s time this country realized that, whether we want it or no, they have declared war on us and aren’t going to go away till they are beaten severely.
