In battleground states, “Catholics continue to account for a higher percentage of the electorate than their overall percentage of the population. … Catholics are the key swing vote,” said Matt Smith, president of Catholic Advocate.

Forty-eight percent of the poll respondents were Democrats; 33 percent were Republicans.

Junk polling.

I am not a Catholic, but one has to wonder how these folk can label themselves as “Catholic” and support a President who advocates for Gay Marriage and Abortion.

If this key vote in the swing states doesn't overwhelmingly support Romney after everything obama and HHS has done they will never support a PUB. Maybe obama knew, from doing polling, before they anounced the birth control and abortificent mandate.

How many times are you going to post this useless poll? It is by an ADVOCACY group not church going Catholics...these are Catholics the way Nancy Pelosi is a Catholic....that is to say not at all.

This was a very interesting study conducted by a reliable group, which means that their questions were not garnered to produce an outcome to serve Obama. Also, these findings line up with what is written in the Republican platform.

Key TCA survey findings:

Catholics who do not attend Mass regularly:

78% say: “Our rights come from nature and God, not government.”

72% say: “America’s exploding federal debt hurts the poor the most.”

66% say: “Religious charitable institutions should not be forced by the government to provide or pay for goods and services they morally object to.”

66% say: “Catholics can disagree about the best way to serve the poor-for example, favoring private charity over government programs – without being 'bad' Catholics.”

57% say: “The Obama Administration has gone too far in placing restrictions on religious freedom when implementing their programs and policies.”

Among regular Mass-attending Catholics:

86% say: “Our rights come from nature and God, not government.”

71% say: “America’s exploding federal debt hurts the poor the most.”

72% say: “Religious charitable institutions should not be forced by the government to provide or pay for goods and services they morally object to.”

Obama getting 49 percent of Catholics overall

In 2008 He got 54%. So how is this good news for Obama. The headline could just have easily read "Obama's support among Catholics down 5% from 2008".

Putting a little emphasis where it is needed, let’s phrase it like this. Catholics are supporting a president who is gay, promotes the gay agenda, promotes abortion on demand right up to and beyond birth. They support a president who is waging a war on Catholics and all Christians.

I would imagine the polling samples reflect the percentage of Catholics who are registered Democrats compared to the number who are registered as Republicans. When seen in that light, 7 percent of Democrat Catholics won’t be voting for Obama. Catholics who care about Christianity and their Church should get out and persuade their brothers and sisters to not vote for the enemy.

Priests need to say it.

“A vote for Obama or any Democrat is a SIN will lead to excommunication, and unconfessed will endanger your immortal soul.

And dare the IRS to do anything about it.

Actually this is an improvement. In 2008 I believe he received 55% of the Catholic vote. As a Catholic I can only say most Catholics don’t practice the faith, it’s too hard and not fun. But they still go to communion.

Take home message.

The Catholic Church is too inclusive, it’s time to thin the rolls.
