Quick! Get NBC's Chief Foreign Correspondent Richard Engel a chair.
Engel claims that he was so shocked at Barack Obama's statement that he now considers Egypt neither an ally nor an enemy that he "almost had to sit down." So if this is true, why did Obama support the overthrow of former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak who was very much our ally, Engel wonders. Here (and below the fold) in this video is Engel in desperate need of a chair over the shock administered by Obama's uncertainity about whether Egypt is friend or foe.

WELL DUH!
Mika & Co. will have his office cleaned out by COB today.
Dawn shines on Marblehead!
How can this be allowed in the Obama Cheerleader Squad??
But...but...but...they were fighting for democracy.
Expect Engel to be out of a job....now..
Hey Engel, you work at NBC News, your not allowed to use any logic remember
He’s assuming Obama puts US interest first. Go watch 2016!
So, did he find the empty chair?
In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way. -Franklin D. Roosevelt
Two names: Valerie Jarrett and Huma Abedin.
Good question Dick - maybe NBC can investigate why a president of the USA would assist in overthrowing an ally for the benefit of an apparent enemy.
OOPS, freudian slip Mr. Engel? Did you wonder the same thing while it was happening? just some strange goings on these days.
NBC finally bought a clue.
Well, let’s see, Engel is in Cairo across the square from the demonstrations. What happens if the whole situation goes out of control either through Egyptian government complicity or ineptitude? What happens to Engel and his crew? I do not think he would like to experience the affections of the crowd in the same way as Lara Logan, especially since it would be administered more in the manner of that dished out to Ambassador Stevens in Libya. What happens if the whole city, the whole country, the whole region spins out of control? There is no guarantee that any Americans will get out safely.
There is an old saying: “A conservative is a liberal mugged by reality.”
I suspect Mr. Engel has a more accurate understanding of all the possible consequences here than the safely-ensconced-in-DC Chuck Todd. In other words, the same spear looks very different if viewed from the opposite end.
Obama is an empty chair—Engle can sit there.
