Here’s my explanation. Mubarak was both friendly to the U.S. and to Israel. Therefore, he was a “bad” dictator in Obama’s lexicon. So now Mubarak is gone, and Obama’s insistence, and neither we nor Israel can trust Egypt. This is supposed to be seen as an improvement.

Democrats have a long history of punishing our friends and rewarding our enemies.

Here’s the problem: while not all Muslims are crazed, America and freedom hating, violent morons, the crazies run things in all the Muslim countries. The Egyptian government knew what 9/11 meant to Americans and Islamic radical alike. Why weren’t there Egyptian forces around the embassy? I think Morsi was a little happy to see the violence.
