Federal authorities have identified a Coptic Christian in southern California who is on probation after his conviction for financial crimes as the key figure behind the anti-Muslim film that ignited mob violence against U.S. embassies across the Mideast, a U.S. law enforcement official told The Associated Press on Thursday.
The official said authorities had concluded that Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, was behind “Innocence of Muslims,” a film that denigrated Islam and the prophet Muhammad and sparked protests earlier this week in Egypt, Libya and most recently in Yemen. It was not immediately clear whether Nakoula was the target of a criminal investigation or part of the broader investigation into the deaths of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Libya during a terrorist attack.
Attorney General Eric Holder confirmed Thursday that Justice Department officials were investigating the deaths, which occurred during an attack on the American mission in Benghazi.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss an ongoing investigation....

This should be illegal. It certainly seems negligent to me of a person’s safety. It is just plain common sense.
CBS and the unnamed federal source, and whoever authorized the investigation to begin with, should be held 100% financially liable and criminally responsible for any harm to the person.

So let me get this straight. There can be countless accounts of groups of blacks attacking whites, but the American media won’t tell us the attackers are black because they’re afraid that generally peaceful whites will attack innocent blacks in retribution — which never really happens.
Yet when one guy is complicit in producing a film that is allegedly anti-Islam but is likely just truthful, the American media is tripping over themselves to identify the lone man as a Coptic Christian. There’s absolutely no fear among the media that Arab Muslims may attack Coptic Christian in retribution — which is almost sure to happen.
I have rage boiling in me right now.
If 1,000 people made videos about Islam and the truth about its origins, would they have time to track all of them down? How much would it cost to make a video? Sunlight is the best disinfectant.
After seeing the video in question I think about $100 bucks. Most of the money on this particular video was used for very bad makeup.
The "movie" in question is pretty bad. So bad it's funny. But there is nothing illegal about making a bad movie and the government has no business figuring out who made it and why.
