But what if a vendor agrees to sell me, a free citizen in a free country, a large sugary drink at an agreed price?
It is hard watching liberty die before my eyes every single day.

The measure, which bars the sale of many sweetened drinks in containers larger than 16 ouncesI'd advertise a free 32oz cup with every two 16oz drinks purchased. Problem solved.

Only establishments that receive inspection grades from the health department, including movie theaters and stadium concession stands, will be subject to the rules. Convenience stores, including 7-Eleven and its king-size Big Gulp drinks, would be exempt, along with vending machines and some newsstands. Sounds like a good time to get into the vending machine business.

There are some people who cannot drink diet soda. People with PKU (Phenylketonuria) cannot break down the amino acid phenylalanine. Diet drinks with NutraSweet (aspartame) contain phenylalanine. Not sure how many diet sodas contain phenylalanine.

I don’t believe thise would survive a class-action lawsuit. All that would have to be done is to compare what the “health department” used to determine that it fit whatever regulations specify it as “unhealthy,” and then just show the zillion other things that meet or exceed said regulations “unhealthiness” that are still legal. And then simply make the argument that sugary drinks are either allowed, or all those other zillion things must be made illegal too.
Sheesh, don’t lawyers even know how to make money anymore? It really IS the end of the Mayan Calendar!
