NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. Beef Products Inc. sued ABC News, Inc. for defamation Thursday over its coverage of a meat product that critics dub "pink slime," claiming the network damaged the company by misleading consumers into believing it is unhealthy and unsafe.
The Dakota Dunes, S.D.-based meat processor is seeking $1.2 billion in damages for roughly 200 "false and misleading and defamatory" statements about the product officially known as lean, finely textured beef, said Dan Webb, BPI's Chicago-based attorney.
The lawsuit filed in a South Dakota state court also names several individuals as defendants, including ABC news anchor Diane Sawyer and the Department of Agriculture microbiologist who coined the term "pink slime."

Somebody piss in your cornflakes this morning?

Sorry, I misinterpreted your comment.
>>Ground beef is raw...people have died from burger related food poisoning.<<
We cook our meat.
I LOVE Spam. Spam and eggs (with the hole cut in the middle of the Spam to hold the yolk) is Yum-ah!
Well, that does explain how some of those spice blends were invented. Scrapings from aisle 1 = "Montreal Steak Seasoning", and so on.
Can I come to your house if SHtF?
I’ll bring cookies and guns.

Above is an ABC reports on pink slime by Diane Sawyer. It’s less than 3 minutes long.
Something in that video made a number of restaurants and grocers stop using the product.
First, the report clearly gives the impression it is not beef, and not even meat. They also give the impression it is unhealthy. They give the impression of government malfeasance in BPI’s hiring of a former USDA official. (1.2 million dollar income over 17 years = a $70,000 annual income, hardly unususal.)
Yes, they had to shut down production and laid off like 700 people due to the reporting. Seems like 0bama would be all over ABC news for this increase in unemployment.
The safest beef or chicken is Grass Fed. Unfortunatly it is also expensive. I get mine from my local farmer and the local farmers market.
I wrote this article on my research.

“gives the impression” - that’s pretty weak.
When, not if. I’ll send GPS coordinates. Cookies are good! I have an armory: 8 calibers and 360k rnds of ammo. (Sorry, no pics of that special hardware will ever be posted.) LOL!
We are a step away from eating tofu.
It can be the safest but I couldn’t buy enough to support my two teenagers.

Smart move!!!
To that POS, 700 jobs is a butterfly’s fart-in-the-wind. He was glad to see it happen, I’d bet. More on his “Welfare Army” rolls.
I hope the SUE THEM INTO OBLIVION!!
They had no business labeling this as “pink slime” and doing a news story as if it was something bad
Hot Dogs, Baloney, Liverworst, all look EXACTLY LIKE THIS so-called “pink slime” during production
Then you also know that the material used for this method contains considerably more cartilage and sinew as opposed to muscle tissue. Of course, people are paying good money for that stuff as joint supplements containing glucosamine and chondroitin, meaning that the hamburger made with this additive might be MORE healthy for human consumption.
Good, I hope BPI wins!
All these people that are freaking out apparently don’t eat hot dogs or sausages.....and have never made homemade soup.
If we are to only eat solid pieces of meat there would be a scarcity of food - the waste would be enormous.
The famous picture of “Pink Slime” oozing out of that machine was actually Mechanically Separated Chicken.
(and there’s nothing wrong with that either - waste not~want not....if you don’t want to eat it - don’t)
No one is making you read'em (except maybe your better sense)...I don't think.
