Ohio: Obama - 47, Romney - 46 (Rasmussen)
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 9/14/12 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 09/14/2012 6:38:47 AM PDT by The G Man

President Obama and Mitt Romney continue to run nearly dead even in the key swing state of Ohio.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Ohio Voters shows the president earning 47% support to Romney’s 46%. Three percent (3%) like some other candidate, and another three percent (3%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

weird.. I heard on our local CBS Los Angeles all news radio station 1070, that Obama was up 3 in the CBS/WP/NYT poll in Ohio...

no need to say the obvious.

this station is a drooling cheerleading for any dem.. they spin the news the way they want and have since 1985. It certainly is a bit dishearting way to start the day. I have tried other stations and I can’t seem to find a morning show without squeeky women’s voices, or cackling smarmy hosts, or Bill Bennett who basically has the most radio unworthy voice I’ve ever heard. I fall back asleep when I hear the voice.. it’s like Svengali..”you are getting..sleepy...1,2,3.4.”

I guess half of Ohio wants their main source of income, the coal industry, to be shut down.

Bread and Circuses. These polls are all about entertainment to get you to watch. They are not based on real math or real people. They are manipulated to make it seem it is a horse race and you just have to watch.

Wrong.

Rasmussen is accurate. About the single most accurate.

Traditional Ohio will strongly support Romney/Ryan. The threat comes from organized manipulation of the equivalent of "human sheep," who may be artificially transported to the polls--or "assisted" in voting absentee in nursing homes--or "inspired" to vote early & vote often, etc.--as well as the threat of outright intimidation against our people voting in certain neighborhoods.,

Remember some of the antics of the less corrupt Gore/Lieberman campaign in 2000. Corruption, not the declining popularity of the demagogue in the White House, is the real threat, which we must overcome.

Actually, the southern part of the State doesn't want that to happen, but Cleveland and the surrounding area has long been a hotbed of union democrats....think rust-belt.

The state has been making right leaning gains in the southern part slowly over the years, but the Northeastern Ohio area (Cleveland , Akron, Youngstown) has always been the hard part to sway. Ohio lost 2 electoral votes in the census in 2010 because of heavy populaton loses caused by companies leaving the state (several large ones - think National Cash Register - who's in Georgia now) and people making a move to a better place for opportunity.

What happens in this election cycle in Ohio could be effected by the following as well:

1)How many pocketbpook voters have left since 2010 (Our 3 votes left in 2011) and

2)How many new ones has Governor Kasich (he also balanced the budget within six months of taking office) been able to bring back into the state because of the more favorable environment he is trying to create for business and the people living there.

Good point....

.....think over voting in Cleveland precincts (110% in one on east side of Cleveland) and out-of-state student voting ala "Acorn-style" at Ohio State University, etc.

I’d be breathing easier if it showed Romney winning the battleground states instead of being behind in some, like in Ohio (Excuse me, Oiho).

I see the same thing here in PA.. though the Romney Campaign seems to have given up here, I cannot find one single solitary swing voter who went for Obama last time who is planning to this time and know MANY life long dems who are openly stating they will be voting for Romney.

If that’s the story here in PA, I don’t believe for one minute its a 1 point race in OHIO.. especially now that the failure of the “Arab Spring” nonsense is on TV every night. This guy is Carter II, and anyone with a memory can see it, I don’t think he has ANY chance in OH, IN, IA or WI, Not a prayer in NC or FL or MO.. VA is the only souther state he might have a shot at if the DC area can overwhelm the rest of the state... And IL and MN are only states I think Obama is safe in the rust belt.

PA and MI are battleground in my mind, but only if Romney fights for them. So far it seems they are pulling back their ad buys here, can’t recall seeing an ad either way for a while now. Of course if He starts to pull away in OH, etc, I would expect media buys to sudden begin hard in PA as Obama will be put on the defensive and have to defend the state.

That’s my bellweather.. if I start to see major Buys in PA, I know that R/R have internal polling that show they have the election won, no matter what the public polling says.

Yes, same here in SWPA... its eerie...

However, I think part of that is because Obama is bust.. and Romney is not exciting. Romney will get the votes, but folks are not fired up about him. This election is a referendum on Obama, nothing more.

Combine that with being 4 years into a depression and buying yard signs and attending political rally’s can’t be highest on folks lists who are working hard to just scrape by.

That’s the thing, though, Carter II or not some people either don’t see it or don’t know enough to think it’s a bad thing. Just yesterday I heard two people talking and one said that “every educated person is voting for Obama” while another said “people say he’s Carter 2, but I’d rather have that over Romney.” Some people are just blazingly stupid and drink the Kool-Aid, thinking that Obama is the greatest thing ever, despite copious amount of evidence to the contrary.

There are always the party loyal who will tow the line no matter what, but that isn’t going to win you elections...

I really don’t buy into the “close race” thing for one minute... Time will tell.

Bill Bennett is one of those ‘conservatives’ who loves to play ‘nice’ with Libs and RATs. He promotes his show as “intelligent conservative” radio (as opposed to ‘what’?....that the other conservatives are??? Dumb?). He loves to talk about ‘Education’ and is a big ‘policy-think-tank’ type of guy. He’s from the Jack Kemp school of ‘be nice to Libs because we want to bring them up to our level’.
