A demonstration that began with about 200 people outside the U.S. consulate in Sydney swelled to more than twice that number, with protesters appearing to catch police off guard as they marched through the centre of the city.
Some of the chanting protesters carried placards reading "Behead all those who insult the Prophet".
Several streets, usually thronging with weekend shoppers, were blocked off by police as the protest grew. Police, many wearing anti-riot equipment and some on horseback, used dogs and chemical sprays, including tear gas, as they tried to control the protest.
Reuters Television pictures showed one policeman with a head injury being led away by colleagues. Police later said six officers had been injured and eight protesters arrested.

Pathetic how the media has accepted the premise that all this is about the film. The Islamists know how to play the media, and liberals, like a fiddle. They’ve figured out that if they can tie their violent outbursts to provocotive cartoons or films or whatever, the post-modern West will tie itself in knots and essentially blame itself.

What is pathetic is that the Media is working for the Muslims in trying to propagate this lie.
If it hadn’t been this movie it would have been something else. The Muslims want war, and if they keep this crap up they are going to get it.

I went to ABC Australia, and they are updating on this and providing pictures. Their media is saying that the protestors are claiming they are there to defend their prophet over the film, so they are blaming the film as well. They have this block in the article:

But, I was just a kid in the 1970’s and this stuff was going on. So in 40 years or more ‘the west’ hasn't learned to deal with islamics? In 40 years islamics haven't been able to learn to deal with the west?
WE effed up? Yeah...someone created a power vacuum, but these elements have been waiting decades for this. This though is what happens when we elect leaders with no foreign policy understanding in the world. Be it in politics or in business...textbook foreign policy philosophy is no way to operate in the real world.
