Rasmussen Reports ^ | Rasmussen

Posted on 09/16/2012 4:31:53 PM PDT by Hero

Mitt Romney has cleared the 50% mark again in the battleground state of North Carolina despite the presence of the Democratic National Convention there little over a week ago.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely North Carolina Voters shows Romney with 51% support to President Obama’s 45%. One percent (1%) likes some other candidate in the race, and three percent (3%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Axleprod won’t be happy about Rasmussen’s polling model. He doesn’t wildly over sample Dimocrats.

Some Freepers are going to be outraged that Romney isn’t up 30 there.

I want to hear he’s over 50 in Ohio, Florida and Virginia now.

Even oversampling donks won’t be able to hide the coming landslide. Unless they go donk +20 on the polls (the MSM is already at +10 or so).

Too lazy to post: Denver Post poll: CO officially “tied” (Obama up less than 1) using adults and registered voters. We can take CO off the list before long.

Its important to note in the next 50 plus days those states that voted for Obama in 2008 that are going to vote for Romney in 2012 and vice versa, those McCain States that will vote for Obama this time out.

Don’t waste your time with the McCain to Obama states, there aren’t any.

North Carolina will certainly vote Romney. The others remain close, but these toss up states will likely break all the same way. Obama either wins with about the same electoral vote that he had in 2008, or he gets blown out of the water when it all breaks against him. Its not over, it could go either way.

I don’t even believe Virginia is in play either. I know too many Virginians that cannot believe they ever voted for Obama and are switching in droves. The anecdotal evidence is overwhelming.

Yet I read in Yahoo that Obama continues to ‘creep up in the polls’!

This election cycle has really driven home the point, that they doctor these polls to make Obama seem more popular than he really is.

As some have pointed out, there are raw numbers from polls. However, they then have to take those numbers and fit them into turnout formulas, and other formulas, to really predict the outcome of the election.

Self-identified Republicans in this election are at a higher level than they have been in years. The reverse is true for Democrats. The enthusiam or turnout of Democrat voters is expected to be less. All of these, and other factors, need to be accounted for when doing polls.

Quite possible. He "creeps up" my skin every time I hear his voice on the radio.

I don't think Rasmussen is a pure as the wind driven snow. I do think, in the end, he wants to be credible. I think he still wants Democrats to win. He also doesn't want to look like an incompetent.
