In Chicago, white racist Democrats trapped blacks in urban ghettos through the highway system. Aldermen John J. Duffy and William J. Lancaster sited them to be a “Maginot Line” against black movement. Richard J. Daley encouraged this racist policy. See the Robert Taylor homes, etc.
That’s the wrong approach. The GOP does a terrible job with outreach. There is no reason why Indian, black, Korean, and other minority groups that own businesses aren’t Republicans.
Blacks agree with us on some critical issues - school choice, 2nd Amendment, families, etc. We have so many common issues with them that they’d make natural Republicans. Better outreach must be the goal if the South is to remain a GOP bastion.
