MSNBC's Ratings Wins Spur Calls for a New Host: Anthony Weiner?
NewsBusters ^

On Monday and Tuesday, MSNBC won over Fox News in the ratings in the key demographic of viewers 25 to 54 -- the prized audience for advertisers. Rachel Maddow had bigger ratings in the demo than longtime cable-news ratings king Bill O'Reilly. In their time slots, Maddow defeated Hannity, and Lawrence O'Donnell beat out Greta van Susteren in those numbers.

I’ve quit watching FOX unless something big is happening and then I flip between FOX and CNN to see who has the best live coverage.

The Five sucks hardcore.

O’Reilly is ego and too much tightrope walking trying to be *fair* and he has too many fill-in hosts.

Hannity is mostly boring.

Greta is probably the best of all the shows—she is more like an actual news anchor instead of a commentator and I get the best information from her.

I like Cavato but since I don’t usually have FOX on anymore, I forget to turn him on.

I do try and tune in for Bret Baier.

FOX and friends lost me with their attack on Hank Williams Jr.

I can’t stand Shep or Chris Wallace.

I used to like Megan Kelly very much but for whatever reason since her 2nd kid, not so much. She seems to have gotten an outrageous ego, too.

FOX has moved way too much to the center and I don’t think the center watches news/politics as much as the hard left and the hard right.

The left will never like FOX and the center doesn’t follow politics hardcore, so FOX chit on their main viewers.

MSNBC is still hardcore left, so they will do better because they haven’t tried to back away from their audience.

How, pray tell, does this hurt Romney/Ryan?

If more and more people are tuning in to watch Tingles, O’Donnell, Schultz, and the Madcow to get their news, this country is in deeper trouble than we thought.

Is that a mug shot of Shep Smith?

Yep.

Shep Smith was arrested in 2001 after an altercation with another journalist over a parking place.

Geraldo Rivera is a far-left idiot that I would like to buy for what he’s worth and resale him for what he thinks he’s worth. I remember years ago when he called the Illegals here from Mexico our “Honored Guests”. I haven’t watched him since. Can’t stand him.

I’d love to see Red Eye go Prime Time on FOX and see Dennis Miller get a Prime Time slot also, and maybe replace Billy O’.

I only like O’Reilly when he has guests and a good 2 or 3 way conversation. I CAN’T STAND the stupid game stuff with Doucy and McCallom or whomever is sitting in. Also— when there is a man-on-the street, just give the actual back and forth, and stop embellishing it with stupid film clips! He is supposed to be adding something new, but the initial one I saw was useless. Maybe it is time for me to tell him why I turn him off when I do.

I can tolerate Anderson Cooper. He can do a great job when he wants to, and isn’t afraid to tick off the left. He’s the only one I will watch on CNN. Hannity has become a broken record. He repeats everything endlessly. You could skip him for a month and not miss anything. Greta is my favorite, now.

anamolous events do not portend trends.

Give it up losers. Your shows(product) suck.

Someone just doesn’t mind losing so much money on your “made in China” products....

According to the tvbythenumbers website:

Monday, September 17 (25-54 primetime)
MSDNC - 471,000
FNC - 469,000

Maddow - 531,000
O’Reilly - 591,000

Tuesday, September 18 (25-54 primetime)
MSDNC - 575,000
FNC - 526,000

Maddow - 703,000
O’Reilly - 591,000

It’s important to note that O’Bloviator still pulls double Maddow’s numbers in the overall viewership totals. The apples-to-apples comparison for Maddow is really with Hannity in a head-up matchup. Maddow got about 80 percent of Hannity’s numbers on those two nights but beat him in 25-54 both nights.

Now, my friend, you are exactly right about that Tamara chick. She is an ultra-left, socialist witch (or a word that rhymes with witch). I sent Sean Hannity an e-mail one time and told him that if I ever saw her on there again, I would not watch him anymore. Guess I’ve missed the last few appearances she made on his show. I don’t watch FOX much anymore. You’re also right about his panel always trying to “out shout” each other. And Sean is just as bad, he can’t keep his mouth shut and let anyone talk without him interrupting.

ALL THAT SAID........I still think in his heart he IS a Conservative. I’ve never heard him “make nice” with Liberal ideology or say anything nice about Obama, Reid or Pelosi. And, I canNOT say the same for Bill O’Reilly.

Really.., The Five is one of the best shows on FOX. It is actually contemporary.

As for MSNBC that is but one segment which is youth and youth is always too the left. I do believe that the Right will need to adopt more popular stances on social issues or go by the wayside. The world is melding as is the Nation and if a group like the GOP for instance does not become inclusive then it will slowly shrink in base. One issue I wish the right would get in front of is immigration as we meld the ideas we believe in need to be shared for example their is a conservative side to the Latino population. Use it!

Some Fox News viewers may have switched to Glenn Beck’s new channel on Dish Network. For those of you with Dish (and the America’s Top 250 package or above), Beck’s new channel is 212.

What else was on tv Monday and Tuesday that liberals don’t watch, but the rest of America does? Football? Nascar? I have a feeling the explanation lies in something like that.
