Pritzker is experiencing frustration in her fundraising efforts, as wealthy donors who contributed generously to Obama in 2008 are not even returning her phone calls.
Pritzker is telling potential donors that the Obamas have no intention of returning to Chicago when they leave the White House, according to the source.
She is also raising money for the Obama presidential library and museum, which also are slated for Hawaii.
Pritzker’s search for a developed property, suitable for occupancy four months from now, instead of property where a custom-designed estate might be built, is further indication that insiders believe Obama will not be re-elected.
Pritzker (allegedly) was acting as a proxy to purchase a $35 million oceanfront estate in Kailua, the “Beverly Hills of Hawaii,” on the northeast shore of the island of Oahu.
Pritzker herself may contribute up to half the $35 million purchase price of the future Obama residence.

I always figured that Obama’s interest in Chicago was entirely political and opportunistic. He did not necessarily see the White House as being within his reach, but the Congressional District that he had set his sights upon has been exclusively African American since the Twenties (under both Republicans and Democrats). At his core, Obama is a lazy person who likes enjoying perks and benefits without working too hard. Living on the beach for the rest of his life has to take priority over wintering in Chicago.

I suspect that something is right both with Texas and with the Bush family. We lived in San Antonio for three years and think the area around Alpine looked like a place we could settle in. However, we ended up on a working ranch in southern AZ. Long live Texas.

I don’t know why he would want another term anyway. He gets 400K whether he does 4 years or 8 years anyway. He could really live comfortably on 400K plus book deals for the two of them. If I were him, I would retire and play golf, eat ice cream and just enjoy life.
