Washington (CNN) - Republicans are moving three staffers out of Democratic-leaning New Mexico and shifting them to Colorado and Nevada, two states where the presidential race is more competitive.
The Republican National Committee and Mitt Romney's campaign will continue to maintain staff and victory offices in New Mexico, a spokesman for the RNC said.

But the moves are a clear sign that party officials see Colorado and Nevada as higher priorities on the electoral map.
“The GOP Victory team is bolstering our organizations in the key battlegrounds of Colorado and Nevada, two places where the President is hemorrhaging support thanks to his failed economic policies,” RNC Spokesman Tim Miller said when asked about the moves.
The “Victory Team” is the joint political operation and turnout effort run by the RNC and Romney campaign.
“Our team will continue advocating for Governor Romney and his plan to strengthen the middle class in each of these states where voters know that we can do better than the past four years,” Miller added.
President Obama has a tiny but statistically insignificant lead in both Colorado and Nevada, according to the RealClearPolitics average of polls.
Republicans are confident about their ground game in those two states and have made over 1 million voter contacts in both.
In New Mexico, though, the RCP polling average shows Obama with a roughly 10-point lead - and neither campaign is running television ads in the state.
No surprise.

Also Romney and Ryan needs to get in these swing statesd more and call out the bias in the media
I wish Romney would just concentrate on Virginia, Ohio and Florida. He does not need Nevada and Colorado if he wins those other very important states that quite frankly are easier to get. McCain spent so much time in Nevada for nothing...a total waste of time. Romney has a big chance to win in Virginia but not if he doesn’t work for it.
Don't think NM will go our way unless Romeny does a landslide which is still possible IMO.
Actually, thinking tactically and going by the latest polling, there's a much better case for abandoning Ohio and focusing on Nevada and Colorado (and Iowa and New Hamphshire) than the reverse; after another couple weeks of polling/the first debate, one could possibly make a case to abandon Virginia, though that is unlikely.
THIS is the e-GOP we know so well - the one that snatches defeat before they ever really create an opportunity for victory.
One of the biggest problems with the e-GOP is that they are too willing to let the left define them. They won’t stand up to the leftists and they won’t fight for America.
As long as they keep their cushy political position and aren’t late for Happy Hour at “the club”, they have met their needs.

I wonder if Willard is having money problems? According to the NY Times (yes, I know...take w/ grain of salt)...Willard’s campaign had to borrow 20 million and has not yet paid all of it back.
The NY Times reporting implies that all the money Willard claimed to have raised...was actually monies to be divided up and was not just for Willard’s campaign.
If money IS an issue...I think Willard does need to concentrate on Ohio, Virgina and Florida. And we have to hope the Superpacs start running some ads...and fast.

Gov. Susana Martinez on Tuesday emphasized the value of the government support services in response to Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s remarks criticizing “47 percent” of voters as overly dependent on government.Martinez, who was asked to speak on behalf of Romney at the Republican National Convention last month, added that low-income voters in New Mexico should not be written off by Romney’s campaign.
“We have a lot of people that are at the poverty level in New Mexico, but they count just as much as anybody else,” Martinez said. “There is a net that does allow them to be caught and taken care of, whether it be through medical services, whether it be food services, whether it be with funding for apartments, for housing.
“I think, certainly the fact that New Mexico provides that safety net is a good thing,” the Republican governor said.
We know that the polls the have been published in the MSM are all wrong just like they were in 2008.
Therefore, we can only take this as a sign that the Romeny polls are showing that he will win the New Mexican vote.

She is right. Furthermore, with the unemployment levels in Albuquerque, I would have thought that at least some effort would have been made there.
I live in the SE corner of the state and were are firmly in the Romney camp. Too bad Repubs decided to write us all off with no effort to turn the tide. They did show up here to raise money and poof, that was it.
