FRANCE BANS ALL MUSLIM PROTESTS

Gus Lubin
September 21,2012

French interior minister Manuel Valls just confirmed that no protests would be allowed over the Mohammed cartoons, according to Reuters.

"There will be strictly no exceptions. Demonstrations will be banned and broken up," he said.

Think that'll pacify the 10 percent of France who are Muslims?

France has already closed 20 embassies around the world in fear of backlash. Too bad it cannot outlaw protests in these countries.

Said the Muslims: "We are outraged that this outrageous ban has been outrageously enacted! We will show our outrage in even more outrageous rioting, so the world will be outraged at the outrage perpetrated upon us! Did we mention that we're outraged????"

Neither. Muslims can make whatever demands they want. That’s free speech, and that doesn’t restrict the rights of anyone else. It’s only when we comply with those demands that we restrict anyone else’s rights.

The French people are my role models when it comes to refusing to speak a foreign language in my own country.
All around me are Americans apologizing for not knowing a different language or dropping their tasks to scramble over and save the day to translate.

Not the French. Americans despise them for it, but they have preserved their language.

Good for them. We like to be liked too much. It’s not respectable.

When in France, I speak as much high school French as I know. And when I lived in Germany, I learned to converse in German. I love both of those countries.

At home I speak English and that’s it, unless someone says “please”.

But also remember, free speech DOES NOT including the right to scream FIRE in a crowded theater when there is NO FIRE. This is more of public safety issue.

That is the same argument the left has been using to take the video maker to Court and does not apply to either side of the argument. Protesting something is their right you are correct there...killing and destroying during their protest now that is a free ticket to jail.

When you yell fire during a crowded movie you go in with the intent to cause panic and possibly harm. Pointing out the flaws in an evil religion is your right in an open society your intent is to get people to actually think, discuss and to turn away from something that harms so many in this world....yes there is fire...there is death, enslavement, brutality toward women, lies and a governing system that leaves not a single free country that has been taken over by the religion, just strong man dictatorships.

If a stupid badly produced video is you venue of free speech to get your point across...so be it...especially when there are worse videos out there on the internet about islam. When you use the fire argument against free speech of everybody else against only one religion because they want to have a temper tantrum, you have elevated that religion higher than any other religion since you have not protected any of the others and have even used government money in projects that are truly distasteful against some of those other religions.

This is not a public safety issue in the least it is a temper tantrum issue of a group of savages that need to figure out how to join this century and see what the real fruits of their enslavement to that religion has given them and their countries.

Freedom from being mocked, freedom from being mocked because you are too stupid to walk away from evil is nobodies right.

I don’t think they are talking about nor expecting such. Ten years ago they were burning cars and throwing deadly stuff. It can’t have grown more peaceful since then. The Frenchies don’t scamper around with pretense and political correctness and false hope wanting to be liked.

I don’t know, the French commandos I’ve come in contact with have a superior reputation for tough smarts. They sure look the part.

” Bon. Laisser la merde frappé le ventilateur électrique.”

I’ll never look at a frappé the same way again...

...but seriously considering borrowing it for a new tag line.

About 3.7 to 5.5 million people in France are Muslim. This is equal to 5 to 9 percent of France’s total population.

It is hard to believe that the Socialist government of France will do this or anything significant unless the Muslims blow up the Eiffel tower.

Oh I agree that no quarter should be given to bullying by the Islamists. I think that everyday there should be a Mohammad cartoon just to piss the jihadists off. To show them what free speech is really about. If every other religion can can take some criticism, why can't Islam?

I also don't want to take away their peaceful right of assembly to protest.

At least allow them the opportunity to peacefully protest. When we let the Islamist coerce us to renege on the basic freedoms that we hold dear, in a way, they have scored a victory.

Americans despise them for it, but they have preserved their language.

I don't know any Americans who think ill of the French for preserving their language, their cuisine, or any other facet of their culture. Quite the contrary.

Now, I'll admit... I do think it's a bit absurd for them to obsess about the newest anglo word that has seeped into their lexicon - or the newest McDonalds or Starbucks location opening on French soil, while simultaneously ignoring the corrosive effect that Islam has on their culture.

France’s problem is that the vast majority of Muslims are concentrated in the south, in a few major cities. Marseilles is virtually a Muslim run city..

That was my goof - posting before caffeine again. :-) Thanks for the correction, I have a feeling we'll be needing that phrase in the coming weeks.

Hmm. That’s funny. I lived in Germany for awhile and the anti French sentiment paritcularly on the issue of food and language was so rampant that the kids still ask “why do Americans not like France?”.

That, sir/ma’am, is the best answer. They have already shown that they will not stand up to their own hardliners, what makes us think it will be any different now that they live in Western nations?

No, better to let them live amongst themselves.

Of course incitement to riot should be prohibited. This is the “imminent lawless action” test of Brandenburg v Ohio.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandenburg_v._Ohio

But what France proposes to do is ban ALL Muslim demonstrations. This is not a road we here in the United States should head down.
