Republicans vs Democrats: State vs State money raising totals.
Open Secrets ^

Posted on 09/21/2012 7:03:20 AM PDT by justlittleoleme

I honestly don't know if this really means anything or not. But the state by state totals have the republicans raising more money per state.

The Democrats only raised more money than Republicans in 15 states.

California

District of Columbia

New York

Illinois

Massachusetts

Maryland

New Jersey

Washington

Oregon

New Mexico

Hawaii

Maine

Rhode Island

Delaware

Vermont

in 2008 it was a different picture.

Democrats Raised more money than Republicans in 25 states.

Based on data released by the FEC on Sep 3 2012 12:00AM. Totals include PAC and individual contributions to federal candidates and parties.

Data via "the Center for Responsive Politics."

TOPICS: Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: democrats; donations; moneyraised; republicans
This may be totally irrelevant, but thought it might help some that are better at crunching numbers than I am.

Interesting - all the states listed are safe RAT states; none in battleground states.

Funny you mentioned these states. I have Obama winning ONLY those states this November and this seems to confirm my feeling.

I would add CONNECTICUT to those on Obama’s side, but now with Linda McMahon leading the polls in the Senate race, I’m not so sure.

The amount raised is more inmportant then where it is raised from. But this does point to a trend:

There is a force multiplier to apply, obama never saw a dollar he could not pocket, throw away or waste and Romney is a businessman. I figure a dollar given to Romney has three times the purchsing power than one given to obama.

After everything zero has done to this country, I do not understand how he would win even 1 state.

But then again, I am not including voter fraud or the welfare class in my thoughts.

So in Wyoming if 9% of the money goes to Democrats and 40% to Republicans then where is the other 51% going to?

Its not irrelevant, its important, its a reasonable indicator of support, though obviously big wealthy donors can skew an individual state.. what you will notice is NOT ONE SWING STATE IS ON THAT LIST.. not one.

Not one state that Obama won in 2008 with less than 55% of the vote is on that list.

Its not in and of itself a proof of anything, but its a solid indicator of the notion this guy is winning, is nonsense.

I am guessing and only guessing.
That is contributions to other candidates perhaps?

Probably, but who? Libertarian? Constitution Party? Green? I'm thinking that the Communists and Socialists would be out.

Everyone on your list is either a Republican or a Democrat so that would account for the 49% of Wyoming money the article that started this thread said went to either of the two parties. But unless there is a mistake in the table, that means 51% went to candidate from other than the GOP or the Democrats. I’m curious who that was.

It would be more useful to see this on a per capita basis?
