DETROIT -- Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick conspired with his father and best friend to turn City Hall into a den of bribes and kickbacks, a prosecutor said Friday as jurors heard opening statements in Kilpatrick's corruption trial.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Chutkow gave jurors a 40-minute overview of what they'll see and hear in the months ahead. He said Kilpatrick was an enthusiastic rising star in Michigan politics who moved from the state Legislature, then enriched himself with hundreds of thousands of dollars by muscling contractors, fooling political supporters and rigging city business.
"This was not politics as usual," Chutkow said. "This was extortion, bribery, fraud. ... They broke their oath to serve this city. It was the citizens of the city of Detroit who were left holding the short end of the stick."

It reminds me of the time I was on another political forum about 7 years ago and I stated that Detroit was hopelessly corrupt, especially due to 5 decades of uninterrupted Democrat rule.
A state representative (from Detroit, Black Democrat) got mad at my comments and responded, stating there was no corruption and that Detroit was “on the move” (yeah, over 1.3 million folks voting with their feets in fleeing en masse since the 1950s, absolutely without equal for a single locale in the history of the United States), and that it was the “Mecca of (leftist) Black intellectual thought, action, and planning for America.” That he didn’t recognize how truly sad a statement that was is quite telling.
He capped it by saying they wouldn’t go back to the “bad old days” (y’know, when Detroit had 2 million citizens with a white majority, a half-dozen members of Congress, low unemployment, booming economy, one of the most beautiful cities in the nation, and Republican-run, as it was until Al Cobo died in 1957).
About a week or so after he made the remarks, he was indicted for corruption... and he was promptly reelected with about 97% of the vote.

Any brother who sticks it to whitey is a hero. Kwame blew it, though, because he didn’t spread the payoff sauce thick enough to satisfy his fellow brothers. That brings down bad ju-ju every single time. So take heed, dear brothers. You be ripping off whitey is fine, but spread the sauce on the palm of your brothers or you be scrubbing trashcans in cellblock A.

A smart prosecutor will paint him as a man who didn’t give back to the people.
What is it about blacks in elective office and the abuse of power?
Most are like kids robbing candy stores with no thought for what happens when they get to the exit door with bulging pockets and a trail of dropped candy behind.
The only real differences between Kwame Kilpatrick and Barack Obama is that Kwame Kilpatrick doesn’t have the media protection Obama has and Kwame Kilpatrick had a longer period of time to fleece his sheep.
Audit, analyze, indict, prosecute, convict, and add asset seizure to that jail time.
I will be surprised if less than $100B has been stolen by the current mal-administration!
It is the thought of jail that will drive Obama and his cronies to desperation in November.
