I remember Romney mentioning that he would stop all UN aid to all countries and start form scratch if he were elected. This was a while back. How come he doesn’t mention this anymore?

I’m not going to say that Romney didn’t say this. But the only person during the debates that I heard making such a statement was Rick Perry.

Romney did "agree with Gov. Perry" to "start at 0" with foreign aid. It was the CBS debate in South Carolina last November.

Starting at zero, of course, doesn't mean it'll stay at zero. It's just in keeping with the principle of zero-based budgeting, not this baseline insanity we've been stuck with since the 1970s.
