On Friday's online-only "Overtime" segment of HBO's "Real Time," MSNBC's Chris Matthews claimed that blacks everywhere have personally thanked him for constantly playing the race card.

Chris Matthews, the Great White Hope of black people around the world?
He’s been swimming in ignorant condescension for far too long.
Matthews and those of his ilk see a "racist in every corner," and suffer from the same kind of delusion they accused McCarthy, Nixon and the JBS of back then.
The only difference is that McCarthy was mostly correct.
Chris Matthews doesn’t know any black people.

Apparently this deluded fool, drunk on his own 200 proof self-righteousness sees himself as the second coming of Atticus Finch. Maybe he can get Brad Pitt to play him in the movie. Only Atticus Finch took risks and faced scorn, ostracism and ignominy for taking a principled moral stand. Matthews faces nothing but self-congratulations and a fat paycheck for his facile, vacuous, self-serving blather.
When Lincoln visited Richmond shortly after it had been captured by Union troops, blacks fell down at his feet, singing his praises. Lincoln implored them not to do so, telling them it was unseemly.
What is even more unseemly is the sight of Sissy Matthews groveling in front of his own self image, not appreciating in the least how unseemly it is.
