If Israel bombed Iran, what would life in Tel Aviv be like?

“Our pilots,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proclaims on the Channel 2 TV news, “carried out their difficult and dangerous task for the sake of the state of Israel. They have struck several Iranian nuclear facilities and have returned safely.”

For months, Israeli officials had been debating whether a strike would be worth the risk. I’m relieved they have finally acted, but I worry: What if the reactors and other nuclear facilities, which are scattered throughout Iran, some buried deep underground, aren’t entirely destroyed?

Outside my house in Tel Aviv, the early-morning stillness has been pierced by the sound of explosions; sirens lag behind the shrieks of incoming missiles. Military vehicles, loudspeakers mounted on their roofs, roll through the streets, announcing passwords that call up reserve soldiers — Israeli men and women who’ve completed their mandatory military service — joined by some volunteers. The soldiers hurry out of their homes, buttoning their uniforms and scattering to bases and missions across the country. The massacres of Jews and the piles of ash left by the Nazis are part of our collective memory. So we take responsibility for our own defense — of a land that is both a haven and a self-imposed ghetto for the Jewish people.

My husband, a volunteer beyond the age of his mandatory reserve duty, is called up to defend the home front.

Just a matter of time. One of these mornings we will wake up to see that this war has already begun.

October 15th is the day I predict as that is the next no moon night. I guess time will tell.

You tell me. I see pictures of Israeli girls in bikinis at the beach with an M-4 slung over their back - there must be a real reason for that.....I read of bombings and Katusha rockets slamming border towns constantly.....I read of settlers being massacred (beheaded, shot, stabbed, blown up).....I read of all sorts of fear, anxiety and turmoil and it would seem to me that it would HAVE to permeate the daily life of an Israeli Jew immensely (in no way to be confused with the pampered American Jew).

Somehow, I’d think the Israeli Jew will rejoice their government had taken action despite an obvious undermining from the evil Obama Administration (with the concurrence of the pampered American Jew).

I’d say an airstrike, a missile strike, even a good nuking would do wonders for their morale.

Wouldn’t now be a good time for Israel to bomb Iran considering Imadinnerjacket is out of the country?

The drums of war sound louder every day. Don’t be surprised to see it turn into a real shooting war in a week or two.

Another option for Israel, that has been mentioned, is the Jericho EMP bomb that would destroy all of Iran’s electrical infrastructure without much human casuality. It would throw Iran back into the Stone Ages.

The only way an Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities works is if do it in conjuction with the the Corleone Gambit.

“The Ayatollahs are all dead. So is Nasrallah, Ahmedinejad, Gen Jafari, Assad. Today I settled all Family business, so don’t tell me you’re innocent, Morsi. Admit what you did.”

The next day, there will be peace in the middle east.

If Israel bombed Iran, what would life in Tel Aviv be like?

If Israel - doesn’t - supress Iran’s nuclear program what will life be like in Tel Aviv?

Israel is a piece of raw meat surrounded by tigers.

Yes, but those facilities far underground would be hardened against such an attack—as would underground comm. it would set them back, but not far. Cut off the head and drop in weapons for the population.

It would be over in a week.

I’d be surprised. We’ve heard the same thing for around 4 years now.

Yes it would. Then Israel could shoot his plane down on his return flight to Tehran.

A deeply buried underground nuclear facility can be easily changed to a deeply buried nuclear facility TOMB when the entrances are closed.

I like that option, but taking out Iran’s nukes (an EMP is a great idea) would be enough. Radical Islam is a cancer on the Middle East and the world, which Barry Hussein Obama has actually made worse and allowed it to spread. Israel will act against Iran. If they can wait until January, they will have the backing of President Romney.

Anyway, Netanyahu cant pack up and move to Vegas after taking out Moe Green... ;)

A deeply buried underground nuclear facility can be easily changed to a deeply buried nuclear facility TOMB when the entrances are closed........................................ About 4 bunker buster guided bombs at 30 second intervals would probably take care of it.

Given that the Israelis know that Osama Obama & Friends view their nation with utter contempt one would think that Israel would wait until after the election. It's hard to imagine an attack beforehand not helping Osama enormously.

Surrounded by tigers? I don’t think so. Surrounded by JACKALS, cowardly scavengers—that’s more like it!

I would think that because Iran’s nuke facilities are hardened and perhaps even EMP-proofed, Israeli soldiers would have to physically breach them and destroy them from the inside, OR go nuclear at Iran’s high value sites and CHERNOBYLize them, making them INHABITABLE.
