Full title: "CNN Reports Details of Amb. Chris Stevens’ Private Diary; State Dept. Calls it ‘Indefensible’; CNN Punches Back: State Dept. ‘Attacking the Messenger’"

The State Department is taking CNN to task for sharing details from Ambassador Chris Stevens’ diary, before returning the journal to his family. Stevens, along with three other Embassy personnel were killed on Sept. 11 when the consulate in Benghazi came under attack.

n Friday, Cooper explained how CNN came upon the diary and how it factored into Wednesday’s reporting: “The information for that report like all of CNN’s reporting was carefully vetted. Some of that information was found in a personal journal of Ambassador Stevens in his handwriting. We came upon the journal through our reporting and notified the family. At their request, we returned that journal to them.”

I think CNN was right to use the Diary. It points out that the Obama Admin. was covering up the truth. This BS of Presidents lying repeatedly to the public just so they can get reelected has to stop. And I mean for all parties and politicians!

P.S. I think its time FR expanded the number of characters allowed in the Title of threads.

Yes, I think it is good that they used the diary. Getting the Truth out is always imperative, especially with the Lying POS Marxist.

"What [CNN is] not owning up to is reading and transcribing Chris’s diary well before bothering to tell the family or anyone else that they took it from the site of the attack. Or that when they finally did tell them, they completely ignored the wishes of the family, and ultimately broke their pledge made to them only hours after they witnessed the return to the Unites States of Chris’s remains."

Sauce for the goose, gamy ankles and all. Eat it, State.

"A pox on both their houses."

I don't like CNN either But I give them kudos for reporting the truth that Barry Hussein is trying to suppress. And I would applaud their effort if it was about Bush or any other Republican. I am tired of Politician's lying just to keep their cushy jobs!

This is a hard one for me. On one hand I wouldn’t mind that this journal exposes this administration as the liars that they are.

However his family should have been the ones to permit this. This is very sleezy on CNN’S part. Tough one.

My heart goes out to the Stevens family on this issue ... that being said, what nobody is talking about ..... evidently the diary was found in the rubble of the consulate in Benghazi. You would think that State would have rushed to secure the premises, knowing that there would be sensitive info there. Looks like anybody who wanted to could root through the rubble and pull out things like the Ambassador’s personal journal. CNN (can’t stand ‘em) did what nosy media is supposed to do and the State Dept. did nothing they were supposed to do, including protecting their staff. If what CNN found is not helpful to the Omuslim Administration lie-fest ... well, isn’t that just special?

If the State Dept was so concerned, they should have been over there picking through the rubble immediately. The story is that it lay there for four days, anybody could have picked it up.

Perhaps had the Marines been there in the first place, the consulate would have been secure. I don’t see that CNN released anything of a very personal nature.

Oh well.

Maybe he would still have his diary if Hillary and Obama didn’t get him raped and murdered by a bunch of muslim terrorists.

” It points out that the Obama Admin. was covering up the truth.”

It is extremely newsworthy that the admin was lying and covering up.

Hear, hear CNN.

This one isn't tough for me at all.

If the info in the diary was nothing more than personal info then yeah CNN is sleazy but we are talking about an Ambassador writing down his worries about being attacked yet the Obama Admin said their was no such worry before the attack.

There is a coverup here and the diary breaks the story wide open (or would if we were talking about a Republican President) this should be reported far and wide and the President and Sec. of State grilled repeatedly until they tell the truth!

you’re right. The more I mulled this over today, the more I realized - it this administration had gotten a hold of this journal first?

No one would ever have know it was there...not even his family.

CNN is awful and yet they unintentionally managed to do something beneficial here.

CNN was right to publish the information. Kind of strange how the diary was just lying around for CNN to pick up. I remember early on it was reported that sensitive documents inside the consulate were taken by the terrorists, but apparently not this diary.

While I HATE CNN and never watch, the use of the diary is “indefensible”???
What about the effing rag heads who sodomized him then killed him???
Easy to bitch about someone in your own country but show some guts and go after the REAL bad guys...hmmmm?

“The information for that report like all of CNN’s reporting was carefully vetted.

If this BS statement were true than the Mau-Mau couldn't even have beaten Hillary in the 2008 primaries.
