No surprise with this one. Run under the same party auspices and model as Detroit.
Guess that there was a reason a few years back when they placed the characters of “My Name is Earl” in a city called Camden which was sleazy and corrupt.
Obama’s America?
Anyone who notices the pattern is racist.
great article. should be frontpage national news.
-
...and, this is why i think even the defense budget,
must be slashed.
the buget needs to be balanced NOW.
or like Camden, at some point in the future,
their simply won’t be any money.
-
for the sake of our children, we must stop borrowing money,
NOW !
And here I thought East St. Louis, Illinois, was the poorest incorporated municipality in America.
They certainly have been in the business of competing for the botton even longer than Camden.
America, this is your future.... and it’ll get worse when the EBT’s stop working
You see that last photo with the NY skyline in the background? Do you realize what that REALESTATE is actually worth on the open market? Train access to the city. It’s the government that keeps the bums on that valuable land. Why?
The question that needs to be asked is “what’s being funded?”
For years, it has been a favorite trick of liberal politicians to plead poverty for police and fire when the budget won’t balance (which is often, in cities they run).
What is Camden funding that could be privatized or eliminated to preserve emergency services?
Camden has such a bad reputation I’ve heard of citizen owned construction contractors being unable to find illegals to work on building contracts inside Camden, the illegals refuse to enter the city.
This only shifts the burdens of failure around, no the CAmden county property owners outside the Camden City limits will be burdened with a higher property tax bill in the future while the New Jersey State taxpayers will see a slightly lower tax bill.
You do not want to buy a house in any of the suburban towns in Camden county where the property taxes are already bumping up on the 3% increase a year cap, the county will be assessing properties above the cap going forward to pay for the county Sheriff’s increased budgets.
I have had so many debates with idiot liberals/democrats who still trust government , government bureaucrats, and democrats to run things better than the free market( capitalism).
"Anybody got a job here?"
In a free society, a city of 77,000 people shouldn't require 450 police officers, 368 police officers, or even 270 police officers. The sad fact is that Camden's crime rate was one of the worst in the Country even when it had 450 police officers, and while the crime rate has gotten slightly worse since the reductions in the police force, the slight uptick in the crime rate could be attributable to factors other than the number of police officers on the street.
To put things in perspective, the closest city to where I currently live has 80,000 people and a police force of 150 officers. The city where I used to live has one of the highest crime rates in the State of New York and it has about 190 officers for 75,000 people. New York City with 8,250,000 residents and an additional 2 to 3 million visitors/commuters on any given day has 34,500 police officers or one officer for every 239 residents; whereas Camden had one officer for every 171 people.
That will fix the problems. Yeah. No doubt that is what the Dems are planning now as the fix...
