Chicago official asks Chick-fil-A to clarify gay marriage stance (Or else...)

A Chicago alderman says Chick-fil-A's president is publicly contradicting what company executives personally assured him for months -- that the fast-food chain is changing its stance on gay marriage -- and he asked the company Sunday to clarify.

Alderman Joe Moreno made news last week when he announced Chick-fil-A has ceased making donations to anti-gay groups and has enacted workplace protections for its employees against discrimination.

Moreno said the two concessions were the result of 10 months of negotiations he had with Chick-fil-A executives as he weighed whether to support a new Chick-fil-A restaurant in his Chicago ward. He said the executives gave him documents backing up the new positions.

Chick-fil-A, in a statement Thursday, affirmed the workplace protections. Friday, however, company President Dan Cathy denied the company has ceased making donations to groups that oppose gay marriage and said Chick-fil-A "made no such concessions."

"There continues to be erroneous implications in the media that Chick-fil-A changed our practices and priorities in order to obtain permission for a new restaurant in Chicago," Cathy said in a statement to Mike Huckabee, the former Republican presidential candidate who now runs a conservative website. "That is incorrect." Moreno said Sunday that Cathy's statement "at the least, muddied the progress we had made with Chick-fil-A and, at the worst, contradicted the documents and promises Chick-fil-A made to me and the community earlier this month." Moreno said Chick-fil-A executives gave him a letter earlier this year saying the company's non-profit arm, the WinShape Foundation, will not support organizations with political agendas. "We were told that these organizations included groups that politically work against the rights of gay and lesbian people," Moreno said.

One of the groups they give money to is called the Family Research Council. They put out DETAILED report about the gay lifestyle and it was not pretty. It was sourced with 79 footnotes, almost all dealing with published books or peer-reviewed papers.

The Southern Poverty Law Center then refuted it with 10 points of their own - not a single one sourced in any way other than some vague reference to hearsay. A typical reply: “Well Joe Schmoe, professor at UC Davis, says gay parents are just as good as straights.” They used stuff like that to refute books and studies done on THOUSANDS of people.

...and they went on to call FRC a “Hate Group”, which then led to a shooting in DC. This is who we’re up against. Think about it.

Sin is the breaking of God's law. Repenting of sin means being sorry you have broken God's law. I f you are sorry, it means you do not intend breaking His law any further! Let's illustrate it this way:You live in a society which must be regulated according to various laws. There are federal, state, county and local laws which regulate practically every act and deed. Whether we are speaking here of federal laws, civil codes or simply traffic laws, the same principle applies. You are required in order to retain your freedom and your citizenship to obey the laws of our country. If you break some of them, it may only require a fine or a very small penalty, or even a warning, and you will be allowed to remain free. Breaking others can be far more serious. Grand theft, larceny, arson, robbery, burglary, auto theft or murder could get you thrown behind bars (not withstanding the terrible laxity of the courts today). Let's assume you are arrested and in due time brought to trial. I believe he got caught up in the emotion of the moment and was under the influence of some evil companions. I feel he is a man of integrity and wishes truly to mend his ways and live a better life. "Therefore, I am willing to pay his fine myself so he can go free, and he doesn't need to pay this penalty!" Although it probably wouldn't happen in our society, it does illustrate the point. The judge (as a type of God the Father) would say to the benefactor (who is a type of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for our own sins),"That will be fine! You may step up and pay the court $1 million and we will write on the court recordsthat the man who has been accused is free to go." Then the judge may look at you, the person who has been arrested, tried and sentenced, and say,"You are free to go. But don't ever get caught up in that kind of a situation again!" Do you see? You are required, as a citizen of a free country, to obey its laws, or else In the case of God's divine laws, you are required, whether you know about them or not (ignorance of the law is no excuse), whether you are a Christian, a professing Christian or whatever, to obey God's Ten Commandments. Though people by the millions freely break the Ten Commandments every single day, they are unknowingly coming under the penalty of the law, which is death! (Romans 6:23). When you repent, you are saying to God you are deeply sorry you have broken His laws. Jesus Christ of Nazareth as the counsel for the defense says to God, the Righteous Judge, that He believes in your profession of repentance and is willing to allow His own sacrifice to be applied in your case! Then, just as Jesus said to the woman taken in the very act of adultery, God will say the same thing to you,"Neither do I condemn thee; go and sin no more!" True repentance, then, meansbeing deeply sorry you have broken God's Ten Commandments, resolving through the power of God's Holy Spirit and the help of Jesus Christ as your daily High Priest and Intercessor, not to break the Ten Commandments henceforth.

Don't fall into Satan's deception of believing that God's Laws , The Ten Commandments are done away with.

Think you that I said that anywhere at any time? To state it as you did is to imply that I did and that’s deception on a grand scale.

I said in a very clear way that Jesus fulfilled the law and we are living under the new covenant, which by the way, includes the 10 commandments, which Jesus reconfirmed. We no longer have to sacrifice goats and rams, men no longer must be circumcised in their fore skins and homosexuals are no longer to be killed for their homosexuality.

You are lying again by implication, I never said that nor did I imply it, a total fabrication on your part.

You didn’t answer my question yet. Do you or do you not have a battlement on your roof? Would you or would you not build one if you were building a new house?
