Kevin McClatchy, the former owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates, has an announcement: He’s gay.

After years of soul searching and hiding his sexuality, McClatchy, now 49, came out to the New York Times.

In the interview, McClatchy, who was the public face of the Pirates for 11 years, said that he felt obligated to go public.

“I’ve spent 30 years — or whatever the number is specifically — not talking about my personal life, lying about my personal life,” he said. “There’s no way I want to go into the rest of my existence and ever have to hide my personal life again.”

Their sex life is their life. And, all of us need to hear about it. I used to not care at all about gay people. They lived their lives, I lived mine.

Now, they are constantly in my face, which means I have to think about them and decide what I think about them. Well, I don't like them; I consider them bullies.

I've kept this horrible secret for all these years and I just can't live like this anymore. I am a heterosexual American! I can't help it. I am biologically a man and I love women. God made me this way and I am tired hiding in the closet!
