France is set to ban the words "mother" and "father" from all official documents under controversial plans to legalise gay marriage.
The move, which has outraged Catholics, means only the word "parents" would be used in identical marriage ceremonies for all heterosexual and same-sex couples.
The draft law states that "marriage is a union of two people, of different or the same gender".
It says all references to "mothers and fathers" in the civil code – which enshrines French law – will be swapped for simply "parents".
Justice Minister Christiane Taubira told France's Catholic newspaper La Croix: "Who is to say that a heterosexual couple will bring a child up better than a homosexual couple, that they will guarantee the best conditions for the child's development?"
"What is certain is that the interest of the child is a major preoccupation for the government."
The head of the French Catholic Church Cardinal Philippe Barbarin warned followers last week that gay marriage could lead to legalised incest and polygamy in society.
"Gay marriage would herald a complete breakdown in society.
"This could have innumerable consequences. Afterward they will want to create couples with three or four members. And after that, perhaps one day the taboo of incest will fall."
Leading French Catholics have also published a 'Prayer for France', which says: "Children should not be subjected to adults' desires and conflicts, so they can fully benefit from the love of their mother and father."
And Pope Benedict XVI invited 30 French bishops to Italy to urge them to fight against the new law.

Marriage should mean whatever anyone wants it to mean. Shouldn’t we be free to define reality as we please?
All kidding aside, attacks against reality are really attacks against God, Who is Being Itself, and Truth Itself.

A country like France, dominated by secular atheists who value “laicité” above all is up against a country where the Muslim population is already 16% and radical Islam is on the rise. Catholics are intimidated, Protestants are small in number, and most of the Jews are non believers, or trying to emigrate to Israel or the US.
All in the name of sodomy.
Motherhood & fatherhood are essential components of humanity. Proposals that aim to eradicate these natural facets of life should not enjoy the benefits of civil guard.
And what would be their views on same-sex marriage?

Brave New World. Where "mother" and "father" are such dirty words they cannot be uttered in polite conversation. Even in (IIRC) the 1970s, Aldous Huxley was horrified that so much of what he had fantasized in 1936 or so had actually come to pass. This means only one thing:

Almost done it. Remember State Department last year’s initiative with “Parent 1” and “Parent 2” on the passport applications? Parent 1, Parent 2, Parent 3, 4. This is the road they pave for us:

To make up to Linda, Alex requested on Linda also being included in the list of child’s parents, and after amending the contract, Linda became parent 5. Three months later, Christa and Brad filed for divorce, stating irreconcilable differences. After their three months expedited Nevada divorce became final, Brad married Ashley, promising to her that she will become Parent 1b, but concealed that fact from other Parents. One month after the baby boy was born, Parents 1a, 3, 4 sued Parent 2 for fraudulent concealment of material fact that he added Parent 1b to baby’s boy passport without amending the Parent Contract. At the same time, Parent 1 sued all other Parents over the custody. During the discovery process witness testified that Ashley had a history of drug abuse. The Court removed the baby from the custody of Parent 1b and Parent 2 and put the baby into the temporary custody of Jose Raul and Maria Bianca, who happened to be Parents 1 and 2 of Parent 5. Immediately after they receive the baby in their custody, Jose Raul and Maria Bianca, both of Cuban decent, sold their house in Florida and fled the country with the baby boy and applied for asylum in Cuba. Their distant relatives, Carlos and Leonora Santana, adopted the baby and became his Mom and Dad.
President Obama appealed to the Cuban government for return of the child promising in exchange to re-establish diplomatic relations with Cuba and to provide $1 billion in aid. In response, Cuban parliament granted the baby Cuban citizenship and amended Cuban constitution to forbid use of any gender neutral language in the official documents, including passports, and Fidel Castro in the highly publicized interview warned US about the dangerous evolution of political correctness and promised that Cuba would never abandon traditional family values. President Obama authorized deployment of USS Dwight D. Eisenhower to Cuba, but on the dawn before its departure from Norfolk, the aircraft carrier was hijacked by a twitter coordinated attack of five thousand strong crowd calling themselves “Moms” and “Dads”, who later arrived at Guantanamo base where they were cheered by American men and women in uniform and a huge crowd of Cubans.”
