On Friday, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews was on HBO’s Real Time and continued his crusade to depress the unemployed by flaunting how publicly delusional one person can be while still managing to hold down a job in this economy. Via Newsbusters, Tingles directed this one toward former San Diego mayor and current conservative talk radio host Roger Hedgecock:
“When your guy left town, Dubya – who nobody asked him to come back by the way at the Republican convention – unemployment was well past ten percent and skyrocketing.”

Yo, Chris, if unemployment was “well past 10 percent” when Dubya left office - something I think may well have been true - but the official stats showed something in the neighborhood of 7 to 7 1/2 percent, what is the real percentage now when the official stats show 8.1 or 8.2? And what does that mean about the policies of the guy who made your leg tingle?
Oh, by the way, that’s 8+ percent for more than 3 1/2 years. Let us know when you’ve done the math.
