(Reuters) - More than 100 million people will die and global economic growth will be cut by 3.2 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) by 2030 if the world fails to tackle climate change, a report commissioned by 20 governments said on Wednesday.
As global average temperatures rise due to greenhouse gas emissions, the effects on the planet, such as melting ice caps, extreme weather, drought and rising sea levels, will threaten populations and livelihoods, said the report conducted by humanitarian organisation DARA.
It calculated that five million deaths occur each year from air pollution, hunger and disease as a result of climate change and carbon-intensive economies, and that toll would likely rise to six million a year by 2030 if current patterns of fossil fuel use continue.
More than 90 percent of those deaths will occur in developing countries, said the report that calculated the human and economic impact of climate change on 184 countries in 2010 and 2030. It was commissioned by the Climate Vulnerable Forum, a partnership of 20 developing countries threatened by climate change.
"A combined climate-carbon crisis is estimated to claim 100 million lives between now and the end of the next decade," the report said.

Remember Paul Erlich’s `Population Bomb,’ other doom-and-gloom stuff from the `70s, and Jimmy Carter predicting we would run out of oil by 1990?
Japan is in a demographic death spiral—in fact they recently recorded more deaths than births in a recent year. `Eurabia’ and scandinavia have flat or negative birth rates (they aren’t replacing themselves) but all with a surfeit of muslims, of course. We are at least replacing ourselves, ahead of Canada. And of course we’re a long way from tapping the last of our oil.
Left-wing loons are always wrong and around Halloween they get scary and especially stupid.
If I croak before 2030, you’ll know who to blame then!

According to WolframAlpha, with a global population of 6.79 billion people, the global annual death rate is 56.6 million.
So I would imagine quite a few more than 100 million will die by 2030. Around 962 million by 2030.
They’re just positioning themselves to make global warmning an issue again once Romney is elected president.
Notice how the warmongers have been silent the last three years.
Bangladesh has tens of millions of people living only a few feet above sea level. Severe typhoons rush up the Indian Ocean pushing huge tidal surges, that can drown millions. I drove along the Gulf Coast from Florida to New Orleans in 2006. It was still easy to see that the tidal surge had been at least 20 feet above sea level for hundreds of miles along the coast.
Stop making sense now, you hear?!
Agreed! Also, convincing millions that they are queer, thus taking them out of the reproductive pool, will have a similar effect....
Back in the 60s, Paul Ehrlich, the Population Bomb hoaxster, predicted four billion people would starve to death, including 60 or 70 million Americans. What happened? The population doubled, but despite that, the amount of available food per person increased by a third. No one starved (at least not as a result of a world population bomb) and there is more food per person than ever! Did Ehrlich hide his face in shame? No, he’s still predicting we’re all gonna die!
These doom and gloom idiots ought to commit suicide rather than put up with everyone laughing at them all the time.
I’m wondering if 100 million will die the year Iran builds their first nuclear weapon?
[that oughta' scare him]
"Climatologists are pessimistic that political leaders will take any positive action to compensate for the climatic change, or even to allay its effects. They concede that some of the more spectacular solutions proposed, such as melting the Arctic ice cap by covering it with black soot or diverting arctic rivers, might create problems far greater than those they solve..."
"The longer the planners delay, the more difficult will they find it to cope with climatic change once the results become grim reality."

From the original "climate change" scam, the one known as "global cooling".
Meet the new corrupt alarmists, same as the old corrupt alarmists.
That should make the greenies quite happy.
There is a better chance that 100M will die if the desired “fixes” for AGW are implemented.
Less 3rd world development and lower availability of electricity in the developed world.
Lower food production levels for all.
Increased transportation costs, making food distribution more costly, and prohibitive in the 3rd world.
A 100 Milion?
Anybody I know?
Oh.....well then it’s OK.
I thought this was one of those semi-news, semi-satire thingy’s.
So, get my wallet out, right?
