100 mln will die by 2030 if world fails to act on climate - report

(Reuters) - More than 100 million people will die and global economic growth will be cut by 3.2 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) by 2030 if the world fails to tackle climate change, a report commissioned by 20 governments said on Wednesday.

As global average temperatures rise due to greenhouse gas emissions, the effects on the planet, such as melting ice caps, extreme weather, drought and rising sea levels, will threaten populations and livelihoods, said the report conducted by humanitarian organisation DARA.

It calculated that five million deaths occur each year from air pollution, hunger and disease as a result of climate change and carbon-intensive economies, and that toll would likely rise to six million a year by 2030 if current patterns of fossil fuel use continue.

More than 90 percent of those deaths will occur in developing countries, said the report that calculated the human and economic impact of climate change on 184 countries in 2010 and 2030. It was commissioned by the Climate Vulnerable Forum, a partnership of 20 developing countries threatened by climate change.

"A combined climate-carbon crisis is estimated to claim 100 million lives between now and the end of the next decade," the report said.

The way the Moslems are killing each other in Middle East/Asia Minor/Pakistan-Afghanistan corridor, they will get their 100 million on their own.

If only we could double or triple-down on these psychos, taking out much of Pakistan and Taliban-held Afghanistan, the world would be a much safer and saner place.

That’s a very, very safe prediction. Within eighteen years way MORE than 100 million people will die FROM OLD AGE alone!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortality_rate

The mortality rate is 9.5 per 1000 worldwide, so given that the world population is 6 bils plus, the total number of people that die EACH YEAR is 57 million.

Somebody needs to go back and learn some basic math:

Currently, approximatley 56,500,000 people die in a year. 2030 is 17 years away - 56,5000,000 x 17 = nearly 1 BILLION dead by 2030.... with or without so-called “global warming”.

Now - if they are trying to say 100 million per year by that date... still totally plausible regardless of climate - as the world population rapidly grows, so the annual death toll will also likely match...

All with or without any climate change.

Oh - and just a historical tidbit - recorded history shows average temperature far above todays... Indeed, the whole “renaissance” was largely brought on by warming temperatures.

2030? If we don't vote Obama out of office NOW, 100M people will die by this time next year!

Methodology*

Population = 7B
Average lifespan = 70**
1/70 of the population dies each year
7B / 70 = 100M

* - "Methodology" might be a bit too strong a word here
** - The average world lifespan of 70 is high. It's actually much worse than I said! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE UNLESS WE VOTE HIM OUT NOW!!!!

Hilarious bulls**t. Just like the hundreds of millions that Paul Ehrlich predicted in 1970 that would die by the end of the twentieth century if population increases weren’t stopped.

On the other hand, I appreciate this posting, since I’ll be able to use it in my classroom to demonstrate propaganda and bias as it exists in the present day. Although I won’t use the word bulls**t. But I will think it.

The life expectancy at birth of the world is 67.2 years

# people on earth / average life span = natural deaths per year

7,000,000,000 / 67.2 = 104,166,667 will die each year, from simply being too old to keep living.

In ten years, 1,041,666,667 (One Billion) will die, from simply being too old to keep living.

In twenty years, 2,083,333,333 (Two Billion) will die, from simply being too old to keep living.

Quick, somebody panic!!!

“100 million will die?”

So long as they are all “militant Islam” I’m all for it. If that doesn’t take out the Muzzie trash, I’d say let’s turn up the heat!

http://www.worldometers.info/

An estimated 41 million people have already died this year globally. If that keeps up it could be as much as 900 million from now until 2030.

“...said the report conducted by humanitarian organisation DARA.”

Another press release, printed verbatim by their propaganda outlet, the LSM, without the smallest modicum of critical analysis by a poverty pimp “organization” that makes money from scaremongering.

I am no statistician but I am pretty sure at least 100 million people will die over the next 18 years.

According to the CIA World Factbook, as of July, 2005, there were approximately 6,446,131,400 people on the planet, and the death rate was approximately 8.78 deaths per 1,000 people a year. According to our nifty desktop calculator, that works out to roughly 56,597,034 people leaving us every year. That’s about a 155,000 a day.

A lot will die if we don’t do anything either except perhaps grow too old to live any longer.

Then it’s certain that more than 200 million people will die during a second Obama term. ;-)

100 million. Roughly the same number that collectivism has actively slain in the last century.

And why is the Left worried about it? They love death.
