The only people who will set back the conservative movement in the GOP are conservatives. Your argument is utter nonsense.
This election year we’ll see Congress move our way. If Akin wins it will signal a sea change in how politics is done in America. People are talking about the Constitution again. I just sat down with a liberal lawyer who spoke to me about the importance of the law and how judges shouldn’t “write” it. That’s a job for the legislature.
We’re winning. Let’s keep winning. Turning the country back over to Obama for a second, no holds barred term is moving in harms way.
Even if Obama wins, I am sure that state positions as well as the next mid-term election will continue to have heavily conservative results. If Obama wins, it will be by driving up turnout among the dumbest voters, ones who can’t hold down a job and who live on Obama Bucks, ones who are 100% politically ignorant and will never turn up for any election that Obama isn’t running in.
As I recall, you are one who argues that Obama’s 2nd term will end freedom in America. That is an argument that I reject. Not with more than one gun per household, and not with 236 years of freedom behind us as a way of life, and not with our military comprised of soldiers reared in those freedom households spread broadly around America from middle class homes.
It won’t happen. Your argument doesn’t pass the common sense test.
Romney on the other hand is a liberal in conservative clothing. Is anyone going to deny that in light of his record? Is anyone going to say that free republic has been wrong about Romney all along, that he’s a true blue committed conservative now and during his entire tenure as a republican? Not unless they’re into denying reality, they’re not.
So, that means that the republican party that foisted Romney on us, and still seeks to injure Akin, and despises social conservatives particularly will have ascendancy in the party for a long time to come.
I suppose you believe they will not attempt to change the brand, that they won’t promote candidates in their own likeness, and that they won’t appoint justices from the liberal wing of the republican movement.
Dream on.
