The upcoming Presidential debate on October 3 is the most important single event in Mitt Romneys political career.
The elite news media is doing everything they can to convince Romneys supporters that the election is lost.
Americans will be tuning in that evening to see if Governor Romney turns this media narrative on its head.
This will be the first time Americans will see President Obama and his challenger side by side.
This will be the largest audience to watch the two men side by side without editing or distortion by the media. If Romney wins this debate, the next debate will have an even larger audience. If he loses it, the elite media will be giddy in its intense reporting of an Obama victory and the Obama team will be giddy and energized by the proclamation of victory.
The media will attempt to pounce on a strong Obama debate and try to bring back up Bain Capital, 47 percent, income tax returns and a host of wounds as perceived by the left.
On the other hand, a Romney victory will destroy the false media narrative that is determined to avoid President Obamas failure. Suddenly, unemployment over 8 percent, gasoline rising from $1.89 when Obama was elected to $3.89 today, massive deficits, Obamacare, weakness in foreign policy and a host of other failures will rush to the forefront.
Obviously a lot depends on this debate.
And much of the outcome depends on events and actions which are not part of normal debate preparation.
I have been observing Presidential debates since the very first debates in 1960 between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon.
Sometimes the outcome of a debate can turn on the most trivial thing.
Richard Nixon vs. John Kennedy
In 1960 then-Vice President Richard Nixon turned down professional

I was daydreaming a bit and envisioned what a debate would look like if Reagan were in his prime opposite OZer0 in this debate. Needless to say, it was a VERY pleasant dream...;-)
“Why is the debate so important? We already know that the media will say that Obama won the debate, easily. And, since so few people actually will watch the debate, it is a slam dunk for Obama that he has already won the debate...just ask ABC, CBS, MSNBC, NBC and MSNBC.”
First of all, in general, the concept that these debates are so important is stupid. I understand why a POTUS needs to be a good experienced negotiator (Which of course Bozo is not!) to be able to deal with Congress, foreign leaders etc.
However, why is it important for a candidate to win these debates when they never, ever debate anyone in this type of TV forum as part of the POTUS job description? We are electing a leader and chief executive, not a debate champion. If that is the case than just run the top college debater in the US and call it a day! I know that in the past the debates were an opportunity to see the candidates on the same stage, face to face, but in this age of 24/7 news coverage and social media there is so much information available about the candidates that the debates have become irrelevant.
Second, if your school football team was going to play your blood rival would you agree to allow the referees to all be people who you know are absolute supporters of your rival? Of course you wouldn’t. That would be stupid! Of course that is exactly what the RNC, and R&R, are doing by allowing their enemies, and I don’t use that word lightly, in the media to moderate these debates.
This is exactly why I would advise R&R to tell the State Run Media that they are not showing up to their Obama butt-kissing, dog and pony show, unless Mark Levin and/or Rush are also moderators. I dont care if they dont like it, they are our enemy. It would be a great opportunity to let the voting public know that they are not putting up with this crap anymore and expose the SRM for what the are. (Tass and Pravda rolled into one!) I dont care if they have to broadcast 2 hours of Obama playing with himself. Do not let them set the agenda and frame these debates. They attempt, and succeed, at damaging our candidates every day. It is insanity to cowtow to them and let them damage our candidates to their faces! This is all a big fing set up!! Obama will have all the questions in advance! Tell the SRM to add conservative moderators, or to go pound sand!! This media bullshit needs to end!!
Newt has given him the road map and excellent advice.
Romney must heed it.
Take command from the start, be the presence throughout, do it with good humor and in complete honesty and call down the Marxist and his plethora of failed policies in no uncertain terms.
Newt’s advice to attack the media is stellar because the libtard moderator will certainly give Romney one or more golden opportunities.
“I will honor the Constitution’s intent by charging the Legislature with proposing laws, instead of avoiding the constitutional process by using executive orders.”
That’s a noble statement, and I agree with it on principle, but...
If Romney says something like this, and gets elected, how is he going to issue the NEW executive orders necessary to repeal the ones Obama put into place?
And keep a straight face while doing it, anyway....?
Easy: He will explain the NET effect; one cancels the other out. Back to Constitutional law.
The way I would do it is rather then confronting Obama find the guy doing the talking and take over the microphone.
please I hate that tea sipping, pompous crew of that ‘enterprise’
Excellent suggestion about the moderators...you have to wonder if the Republican leadership is so isolated in Washington that they do not realized how much the media is against them or are they just that stupid?
