BizPac Review asked U.S. Congressman Allen West to share some thoughts about his experiences in Washington, D.C., over the last two years and about the nation’s future.

When asked about the role African American communities will play in the upcoming election, West said he expects things will play out differently than four years ago.

He has witnessed a change among black voters since 2008, when they eagerly supported the country’s first African American president, he said.

These statistics will be fascinating! I wonder if he has any influence on black voters?

Not as much as you'd think. He moved districts from Riviera Beach (mostly black) to a whiter (and more conservative) district to avoid getting replaced by a liberal black Democrat which is what would have probably happened if he'd stayed in the mostly black district.

actually, West did switch districts but he moved out of a white liberal district, and a white liberal opponent. I do think black voters would vote for West but neither one of the districts had very many black people.

Have you ever been to Riviera Beach? White is not a common color there

Yes, I have worked elections in Riviera Beach. West’s last district wasn’t there. West’s last district was only 4% black.
