...one of the most arrogant and unpleasant men he ever met.

Another celebrated and outwardly congenial crooner, Bing Crosby, also had a dark side.

I do not know the details of Andy’s death, but I do know that bladder cancer is very treatable if caught early.

If you see blood in your urine GO TO A DOCTOR.

If your doctor gives you antibiotics, GO TO A UROLOGIST.

In this case, modesty kills.

His version of “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” is my favorite Christmas tune.

“Moon River”. “Love Story”. “Born Free”. “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year”.

The Andy Williams Christmas Special.

Memories of a childhood long past. The world is a gray place.

RIP, Andy, and thank you.

I was looking through some albums(the original kind) in a store yesterday and kept finding ones by Andy Williams. He had a smooth voice.

God bless, you, Andy Williams. And thank you on this Rosh Hashanah. May the sound of the shofar awaken us all from our slumbers and alert us to the coming judgment.

His greatest accomplishment was introducing the world to The Flying Silverman Brothers.

“I think if men knew how much women appreciate guys who can sing, there would be a whole lot more guys taking voice lessons.”

I once overheard my wife describing me to another woman. One
of the first things she mentioned was that I sang. I was
surprised that she found that important.

I always thought this song was funny when I was a small child: MUSIC TO WATCH GIRLS BY

We listened to this tape on a summer vacation to Glacier Park and Banff.

I met Mr. Williams at my restaurant in the mid 70’s.. He had appeared at a concert here in Houston.. Upon arriving with a large group, I had to inform them that we had a waiting line that might take a bit of time..

He asked me if I was Italian.. I was really confused with the question, and knowing that the question was a bit rhetorical because, most folks say I am the embodiment of a typical Italian male.. cough.. Tall, dark, and handsome? You might think that, but only if you were Ray Charles..

No, it’s because my name reeks of garlic and oregano, and my name appeared everywhere there was room on any flat surface, and my waiters kiss my ring when I seat the customers at their station.. :)

He then asked me if he would have to wait if he were Frank Sinatra.. I response was “Frank who”, and we all laughed..

Anyway, several waiting customers volunteered to wave their position in line if he would take a picture with them, or sign an autograph, or sing a song for the gathering..

I was more than a little embarrassed and I started to intercept that line of question, but he smiled and put his hands up and questioned which would they want him to start with.. WHAT?

We had a wonderful ensemble of strolling violins, and after he had a few words with the leader, he began to sing, while walking table to table taking pictures and signing anything the grateful patrons put before him.. It was a magic evening with a gracious man and without question, a living legend..

I met him once. He was a sweet guy, and provided many a romantic soundtrack and happy times for families. God’s blessings to his own family and friends who are mourning the loss.

Thank you my dear FRiend.. Many so-called celebrities were far from friendly and most were obnoxious egomaniacs that caused major disruptions when they graced us with their unwelcome presence..

There were many pleasant surprises, but they were very few, and were already known with established reputations, and obvious talents.. The upstarts and flash-hitters, were predictable jerks..

Memories.. sigh.. :)

Thanks...I certainly miss that hap, happiest season, of all.

Christmases haven't seemed as merry and bright the past four years :(

I think I'll watch Andy Williams' Christmas Special reruns, this year.

You never know. People go through phases... have bad moments. I cringe remembering times I have spoken rudely to my wife or friends. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt.
