EX-DEM TALKER FED UP WITH OBAMA, WILL VOTE FOR ROMNEY
Breitbart ^ | 24 Sep 2012 | CRAIG SILVERMAN

Posted on 09/26/2012 12:18:17 PM PDT by kingattax

I support Mitt Romney for President and Paul Ryan for Vice President. For most of my life, I have been a Democrat, and I very publicly voted (C-Span, live radio, The New York Times) for Obama-Biden in 2008.

As I studied Obama’s performance as President, I could no longer support him.

That was not ideal for the longevity of our eight year old, award-winning drive time radio show "Caplis and Silverman" which ended in June. Our show was somewhat premised as a left vs. right dialogue. So be it. I have another career.

I am a small business owner (Silverman and Olivas, P.C.), and a Denver trial lawyer who is a proud member of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. My social policies are libertarian. I am a fourth generation Denver Jew who graduated from Denver George Washington H.S., Colorado College and then CU Law School.

Some of my fellow members of the above groups may be displeased with my endorsement, but so be that, too. This is not a close choice if you are actually paying attention.

An objective person should be enormously disappointed in President Obama and his administration. The economy remains bad. The debt bomb keeps growing. Iran is on the verge of having nukes. The power of the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamism is expanding rapidly.

Our Justice Department is full of politics and political correctness. Fast and Furious is a disgrace. Attorney General Eric Holder needs to go.

Silverman's Jewishness is what finally convinced him that Soetoro is bad for America.

Nothing wrong with that, as long as he's voting against Zero. He won't be the only Jewish Obama voter in 2008 who will be abandoning the erstwhile "Messiah" this year. Look for Zero's percentage of the Jewish vote to be reduced by somewhere about 15 points nationwide, which could provide Romney his margin of victory in Florida. Jeopardizing the future of Israel by pandering to her sworn enemies might turn out to be a critical factor in sinking his re-election bid.

She's also too cute to be a Demonrat.

I would agree that in general, Republican women are more physically attractive than 'Rat women. But there are some exceptions to every rule.

Now why would anyone be so interested in Kirsten Powers converting? I don't see her as a major political figure.

Have the Obamacare pharmacies run low on stupid pills? Told them this would happen.

But there are a small number of Dems who are crossing our way, and essentially no Repubs crossing the other direction this time.

Plus there are some Pubbies who sat out 2008, having been put off by McCain's campaign, and who now realize they just can't afford another four years of this disaster. In other words, greater Republican turnout!

Problem with the converts is they’re usually not “all in.” Like this guy and I’m sure Kirsten would be, they remain liberals on social issues like abortion, but might become fiscal or foreign policy conservatives. Or you’ll have pro-lifers who like big-government socialism going one way or the other. The reason they can switch at all is because they’ve never been quite all-in with either party.

There’s plenty wrong with that. Silverman is fine with genocide unless it involves the extermination of Israel. If Soetoro hadn’t thrown Israel under the bus, Silverman would vote for him, forget about what he’s done to the United States. That schmuck shyster is one principled guy.

Look, the top priority of the whole conservative movement now is to beat Zero, and the only viable way of doing that is to vote for Romney, even though he's far from a perfect GOP candidate. So we don't have the luxury right now of attacking various people who usually vote 'Rat and are coming over to our side. They can only help in achieving the immediate and overarching goal, especially, if like Silverman, they are in swing states.

It has always taken a coalation of various types of voters to win national elections, and the differences between the various pro-Romney factions have to be overlooked for now to lift our candidate to victory. After that happens, we can have discussions focusing on our differences, and I'm sure they'll become hot and heavy. But this is not the time.

This guy isn't alone.

I hate to tell anecdotal stories, but I think this is relevant.

My mom is a hardcore New Yawk collectivist Democrat. When she and my dad were younger, they campaigned for Jimmy Carter. (Despite the fact that we're Jewish, but good luck explaining that to her.) She had a crush on Bill Caligula and she thinks Hitlery is the smartest woman in world history. She watches PMSNBC day in and day out and to this day, hates George W Bush with a passion that would scare the hell out of the dorks at Alternet and DU.

And yet.....

And yet.....

She's voting for Romney and has a sign in her front yard.

I don't know why. (Aside from giving each other politically themed gag gifts for Hanukkah, we never discuss politics. Last Hanukkah I got a subscription to the International Socialist Review and she got Atlas Shrugged and Anthem from me one year, but I digress.) And frankly, I don't care why. Progress is progress.

That’s all right by me. Just get them to vote Pub for the first time, and then work on them on the other issues. You get nowhere by keeping them out for purist reasons at this point. Get them in the Party and then step by step get them prepped on the other issues until one day, voila, they are true converts. It happens all the time.

Rush Limbaugh has the right attitude towards those that join the Pub Party; he welcomes them with open arms and is delighted that the light bulb went on in the first place so that they took a mini step towards the Pubs, and then a giant step by voting for them. We need all the converts we can get.

Sometimes it takes something VERY personal for a person to overcome what your mother, father, friends, Reform Rabbi, schoolteachers, professors, and the media teach you.

I’m not going to attack the guy for coming to our side.

I want his vote. . .he is ‘getting it’; and will bet; ‘more light to come’. Just glad, he is choosing Mitt versus; the Marxist degradation - and threat - passing for US President.

Amazing how they are ok with the destruction of the truly innocent, but cringe at the possibility of having to suffer as an adult.

And, how can any true “libertarian” vote for democrats.

(BTW and’whatever’; this man has impressive credentials - and you call him a ‘smuck shyster’?). Do think, perceptions like this; do not help Jews move to the higher ground that we believe we hold to, as Conservatives.
