Six churches in Buffalo were the target of a rock-throwing rampage and inflammatory messages about homosexuality regarding religion and sexual orientation. Police have arrested a 30-year-old man who said he hurled rocks and left offensive messages about homosexuality at several churches in one west metro community due to "his anger with God." Police in Buffalo say doors and windows were broken with rocks between noon and 3 p.m. Monday at four church buildings -- St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Seventh-day Adventist, Hosanna Lutheran (Missouri Synod) and Buffalo United Methodist. Posters with inflammatory messages dealing with religion and sexual orientation were left starting Saturday night at two of those churches -- St. Francis and Hosanna Lutheran -- and two others, Zion Lutheran (ELCA) and Buffalo Presbyterian, said Chief Mitchell P. Weinzetl.

Your conclusion is correct based on what local TV media said last night (they were walking on eggshells)

I apologize for lumping them in. It was done due to haste.

(Our church is independent Lutheran and definitely not associated with the ELCA)

“Not in any form....unofficial nor official.....”

Sure, sure. There is no clique of homosexuals in the Catholic clergy that supports and covers for each other. Keep telling yourself that.

“You took a news article about someone bashing churches and joined them philosophically..”

Nonsense. There’s no comparison to vandalism and saying something unflattering about people or an organization. The fact that you would draw such a comparison is really just an attempt to enforce political correctness to stifle viewpoints that you don’t want to hear.

“The Luthern Church listed was Missouri Synod, not ELCA”

Actually, there are two listed, one Missouri Synod, and one ELCA.

I’m seeing some Missouri synod churches ( WA state ) getting a little weak over this subject. They loudly proclaim gays are welcome to the church but very quietly say marriage is between a man and a woman.

I agree gays need to go to church as much as anyone else but lets not soften the truth either.

I do agree with what our pastor says that we often view people as” your sins are worst then my sins”, but we also need to stand for the truth with boldness.

Trying to obfuscate your original statement of:
"Looks like the list he hit were all supporters of gay clergy and gay marriage, too."

There are 2 Billion Catholics, and a large clergy that serves them. To state that there are not any bad actors in the clergy would be false. They are weeded out and the Vatican has taken an active role to ensure this happens.

Equally as false is your statement that the Catholic Church supports or condones gay clergy or gay marriage. It doesn't.

Nonsense to your assertion that there is no comparative stature to your statements regarding bashing the churches verbally (again without substance) and the guy who vandalized the churches. Apparently you agree with his statements, you're just unwilling to act them out.

Political correctness is what you espouse, bashing the church is the vogue among liberal circles. Bash the church, but do it without fact; just feelings, conjecture and malice.

You and Bill Maher, joined at the hip.....

Nope. Can’t obfuscate a statement that you never made.

“To state that there are not any bad actors in the clergy would be false. They are weeded out and the Vatican has taken an active role to ensure this happens.”

Well, I’ll grant you that they at least seem to be making some effort at that now that Benedict is in there, but before that, your statement would have had me rolling on the floor laughing for about twenty minutes. I’ll give them credit for taking steps in the right direction lately.

“Nonsense to your assertion that there is no comparative stature to your statements regarding bashing the churches verbally (again without substance) and the guy who vandalized the churches. Apparently you agree with his statements, you’re just unwilling to act them out.”

It’s not nonsense. There is no comparison. Most people learn that stick and stones are not the same as words when they are children, we even have a little rhyme about it. Besides which, I don’t agree with his statements one bit, and any objections I have to any of these churches would be pretty much diametrically the opposite of the ones that he has, so this assertion of yours is patently ridiculous.

“Political correctness is what you espouse, bashing the church is the vogue among liberal circles.”

I guess you don’t understand what “political correctness” means, in the context I was using it. It’s got nothing to do with what is in vogue with liberals, it has to do with trying to suppress a point of view that you don’t want to debate by saying it is somehow unacceptable to hold that opinion, and ostracizing anyone who holds it. Conservatives as well as liberals do that, although liberals have made a veritable artform of it.

True, none of us is any more pure than the homo that may plop down in the pew next to us. However, I don’t see any signs outside churches saying “Alcoholics are welcome!” or “We are proud to welcome adulterers”. We rightfully take the attitude that they are welcome, but they should approach God’s house with at least some measure of penitence, rather than the shameless attitude that homos usually adopt.
