“Mr. Akin is a good man, and pro-life, so he is worth supporting. Which is why I whacked my plastic for him.”

Well said, I did the same thing the moment “Republicans” started bad mouthing him. I am a Missouri resident, and actually voted for Steelman based upon Palin’s endorsement. However, after the way Steelman, et. Al. acted to capitalize on Akin’s mistake, I deeply regret having voted for her. I’m not sure I will ever listen to a Palin endorsement again. Whatever, I am backing Akin now. And have “whacked my plastic” three times since the dogpile started. I think Todd Akin will beat McRascal.

Akin should have stepped aside. He is a selfish and stupid.

Bull feathers! The man said something incorrectly and the circling vultures came in for the kill. They always do, when a conservative misspeaks. Democrats can be caught with blood dripping from their fangs, and get a pass. Very few of their deeds are bad enough do disqualify a democrat. But, a Republican can misspell "potato[e]" and the whole left side of the country lands on him, kicking and screaming.

The only way to stop that crap is to stand up to them. I applaud Akin for doing so, win or lose. But I durned sure hope he wins.

The next thing he deserves plaudits for is resisting the GOP establishment! Screw 'em.

Thanks for providing an opportunity to give my opinion (again) on the subject.

I was furious when he stayed, but it is what it is. Have to support him now, and he is a good conservative. Just hope he can pull it off.

Agreed. Since he persisted and there is no one else, I will contribute and vote for Akin.

Brace yourself for the beginning of the McCaskill onslaught.

Akin MUST win. If he doesn't then we'll know who to blame.

Sir, I respect your views and strong emotions. I on the other hand, see a declining electoral map for the GOP, and Akins of the world contributing more to its shrinkage. We can live in a fantasy world, or start expanding our electoral map. The choice is at least still available. Blaming the media is not going to change a damn thing. As we all know.

Well, who knows. Even if he pulls it off, he will be a drag once he gets into the Senate. The MSM will invite him on TV all the time, and he will continue to make the GOP look like its from the dark ages of “idiocy”.

There is only one person responsible for the rape comments akin made and that is akin himself.

democrats and fools try to blame others for their own screwups.

“We can live in a fantasy world, or start expanding our electoral map.”

If I have to compromise my faith and values to “start expanding our electorial map”, then I’ NOT for expanding it. I try to work in harmony, as much as possible, with other viewpoints in the GOP. However, I will not compromise on basic principles that define me.

I have never been for a “Big Tent” view of the GOP. Big tents are only useful for a circus, and that is all you get with a big tent is a circus with no order or direction.

In my world view, if I have to vote for a person that is not pro-life or anti-homosexualism to get more people into the GOP, then I do not care to get more people into the GOP. That is just to bring in Dem think under the name of GOP in name only.

To have that big tent means we have to go to the mushy middle....were I don’t want our country to be.

I think you are some little kid who skipped school today and don’t have anything else to do but send nasty e-mails to Freepers. If you are a rightwinger your right wing has been broken and you should fix it.

I signed this petition asking Romney to dump Rove. BTW...Alan Keyes has endorsed Akin and wrote a scathing report on his treatment by the establishment.
Also, I read that the unions and pro choice pacs are going to give millions to Claire McCaskill. Most of her ads will be airing in St. Louis (ACORN COUNTRY) and in KC.
Here is the petition to dump Rove;
