Top-rated talk-radio host Michael Savage announced today he has won his legal battle to free himself from his syndicator, the Talk Radio Network, and can negotiate with a new network.
He said he will not be heard on the radio for some time but will continue to update his website and produce a free daily newsletter.
As WND reported, Savage sued TRN in December 2010 regarding his contract, alleging the network used illegal and unenforceable contract provisions and other strong-armed tactics to intimidate him and force him into accepting a sub-standard agreement.
The federal case was referred to arbitration.
Savages lawyer, Daniel Horowitz, told WND that Savage was awarded money damages and complete freedom from TRN. He declined to disclose the amount but said it was seven figures.
Savage has been given ownership of his show, according to Horowitz, which means he will be off the air until he signs a contract with a new syndicator.

Savage attacked the right to keep and bear arms. He is dead to me for that.
I love Savage. I’ll miss him greatly.
I have a Kuhner ping list started if anyone wants to be on it please send me a message-his new show is great on WRKO

I wonder if Savage will come back at all-dang, I complain about him a lot but will sure miss him :(
Enjoy your vacation, Doc.
this explains all the sub par shows and days off doesn’t it?
guess that settlement money is going to his legal fund - snark -
5 or 6 years ago I could not get enough of Church. Now I can only handle 10-15 minutes of him.
I guess I am not alone.
What will we all do if we can’t find out what restaurant he went to for dinner last night?
I always thought him a phoney. Could be completely wrong.
IIRC, he said something about creating a one man stage show and taking it on the road - maybe he’s working on that.
I hope Jerry Doyle moves into his timeslot on my station, he is awesomely better than Savage when it comes to the economy.
I figured something had to be up as of late with all the absences.
What a time for him to go just before the election, I really hope he does some things here in the Bay Area so we can keep hearing from him during this off time.
That being said, when/if he DOES return to radio, hopefully we can catch him on a station in San Francisco instead of Sacramento!
LOL! I enjoyed that post :)
I read another article on Drudge that said he was still #3...BS!
He’s lost most radio stations to Levin and Beck or local host.
Sorry, I got sick and tired of his schtick a long time ago. I once checked back in and it was like nothing had changed for years...whining about his dinner, his family, his stomach problems, etc.
Yes they both have their faults, but if the Texas air would be ok for Mikes Sinuses (of which we have all heard him complain about), I could see him landing on Beck's the Blaze....
Savage lost me a while back when he supported Romney early in the election campaign, over more conservative candidates....and when he started attacking Birthers.
It was time for him to leave radio. Need new, real conservative talk radio
I want a refund, TRN!
When Church is doing the history of The Constitution stuff he is fantastic
But lately when anyone calls he immediately jumps on what they say and says the opposite, even when callers are agreeing with him he jumps all over them. I dont know why anyone bothers to call in.
I expect that if someone called and said “The sky is blue” he would say “you people are always calling to tell me about blue skies that are always there when in fact it is grey and in my Killing Lincoln episodes - available on mikechurch.com I explain why”
He will be back in some form. I don’t anticipate that long of a hiatus, but I think the nature of his show may change. I think he will need some kind of show to promote his books. Although his political books are good, he has a new two book deal with the Jack Hatfield character and I didn’t think Abuse of Power was all that great.
But That’s me.
Will he sell any (or many, rather) without actively promoting them on the radio? I’m not so sure.
Anyway, I already miss his podcast.
