The political fundraising frenzy has entered the extreme stage this weekend as an 11th hour deadline looms, with retiring Rep. Barney Frank labeling the Tea Party a "national nightmare" that needs to be eliminated and former President Clinton issuing a virtual disaster proclamation of what GOP rule would bring to the nation.
In an email to Democrats, Frank blamed the nation's ills on the Tea Party that sent members to Washington in 2010 when voters expressed displeasure with one-party, Democratic rule.
"This is our chance to end the national nightmare of Tea Party Republican rule," he wrote.
Clinton in his email listed the dangers of giving the keys to the White House and Capitol Hill to Republicans.
"They want to cut the budget in a radical way, decimating programs that help the middle class, poor children, seniors, and those in science and technology that will create the good jobs of the future," he said.

Hey barney Frank simply reflects the thoughts and beliefs of those who voted to keep him, I assume he is the ‘him’ in his circle, in office for so many years. Personally, I view Barney as a vile, disgusting pervert who was not qualified to be town drunk. But who am I to pass judgement on this strange (I would have used the word queer but that would label me a homophobe) creature?
The Tea Party gave us a so-called conservative Congress which then proceeded to do essentially nothing.
Now we’ve got Romney vs Obama.
How inspiring.
Everyone really needs to vote, if anything to make Barney’s nightmare to come true, maybe he gets so freaked he saves the planet and ends his carbon footpt as a splat on the pavement.

The original meaning of "decimate" was to reduce by 10%. It stems from the Roman practice of disciplining their troops by killing one man in ten of any unit that did poorly in combat. The idea was to encourage more effort from the troops by putting them in mortal danger on both ends of the spear, as it were.
Current usage has corrupted the original meaning to be complete obliteration which is not by any stretch "decimating".
