It is astounding that what really happened in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012 has been so thoroughly buried by the mainstream media.

In an article from Reuters dated September 12, 2012, Alastair MacDonald reported that "U.S. troops dispatched by helicopter across the Libyan desert to rescue Ambassador Chris Stevens and other diplomats in Benghazi ran into a fierce overnight ambush that left a further two Americans dead." MacDonald quotes Capt. Fathi al-Obeidi (Libya special operations) as saying that "after his men and the Marines had found the American survivors who had evacuated the blazing consulate, the ostensibly secret location in an isolated villa came under an intense and highly accurate mortar barrage."

Now, I'm confused. Helicopters? Apparently, as the consulate came under attack, the occupants contacted someone (it isn't specified who), and the Marines were dispatched. The Marines then ran into an ambush when they tried to helicopter to the consulate location from "across the Libyan desert." Meanwhile, Capt. al-Obeidi said that "it began to rain down on us," just as his security force was heading out to evacuate the 37 Americans in the ten pickup trucks and sedans they had brought to take the Americans to the airport. Capt. al-Obeidi said that he was "being bombarded by calls from all over the country by Libyan government officials who wanted me to hurry and get them out."

And we are told that this would be the most transparent Administration ever.

I guess they are borrowing from the story of when Carter sent in the Marines in his attempt to rescue the 52 hostages from Iran, because we are never given the truth from this Administration unless they are telling us that our taxes are going up.

This perhaps ? Maybe ? this is where they are getting their story from ?
How can the people of America know the truth of what happened without them giving us more information...

With all that's involved here it's starting to appear that this was NO response to some " FILM " and more and more that this was all planned and this administration knew about it.
Who's to say ?

That these guy's were once allies turned enemy because of some negotiations went bad ?
or some deal that Obama, SoS, Chris Stevens promised them went bad ?

What's the likelihood ? that ?

This was some kind of deal, promise that the Obama administration made with the Libyan rebels and it all went bad and this administration wanted to use the " FILM " as some cover ? to use the film as a excuse if things went bad ?

This sounds more and more like some kind of deal that this Administration made with the Rebels went sour or went bad and this Administration wanted to use the " FILM " as some lame excuse to CYA.
So ? as more news comes out there might be more injuries ? deaths involved in this ?

There is no doubt at all there the attacks in Benghazi had nothing to do with the "film."

"The intelligence source said no protests were happening before the attackers struck at about 9:35 p.m. local time last Tuesday. The account backs up claims by a purported Libyan security guard who told McClatchy Newspapers late last week that the area was quiet before the attack."

Here are excerpts from 2 articles talking about all the people rescued and about David Ubben who is at Walter reed. Where are all these people now? The administration had at least 30 to 60 people who were there to give first hand info. This was not a fog of war. I am convinced this was supposed to be a kidnapping intone bad.

At the annex, Mr. Ubben suffered head and leg injuries from a mortar explosion. He was released this week from intensive care but remains at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, in Bethesda, Md., the State Department official familiar with his role said.

Mr. Ubben, a Marylander, is married and has a stepdaughter and an infant son. He is conscious and able to communicate, according to his father, Rex Ubben.

These Marines had live ammo. You are thinking of the Marines stationed at the embassy in Cairo, Egypt.

Sounds more like a deal gone bad, or some kind of negotiations went totally wrong and Obama is trying to cover his tracks.

Some also think these attacks were intended to shut down the CIA operation underway to track down manpads. If so it worked.

I hate to say it but I don’t think there were any intentions of saving Stevens. I’d give anything to have read Stevens journal. I guess this could be why CNN won’t report the story at all. The further they run from the story the more convinced I am that they know the truth. They know Obama would be impeached.

Isn't that what the media tried to do with President Bush ? and ran with speculations and insinuations with glee ?

This Administration can not make it turn out to be a rescue mission gone wrong when they kept saying that the demonstrations were all about some " FILM " that offended Muslims around the world.... yes, read that again ( Muslim demonstrations around the world ) and Obama denounced the so called " FILM " that offended the Muslims at the UN.... in other words, that lie won't work.

Yes, I'm sure they did. They were not attached to the State Dept. they flew in from a ship in the Mediterranean. Thus the helicopters. If you have info to the contrary I'd love to see your source but this is from the original article...

I'm still of the opinion this was a set up by the Obama administration to make it appear as if the republicans had made a deal with the terrorist to take embassy staff hostage and create a repeat of Jimmy Carter and the BS “October Surprise” the dems used against Reagan.

The dems embracing Carter at their convention then then a few weeks later you have Carter II is more than just a coincidence IMO>

Yea, I know for a fact that the marines in Libya didn’t have live ammo. Maybe the marines that they say came in after the attack had ammo but not the marines stationed in Libya.

I can assure you I was never referring to the US Embassy in Egypt. I don’t know enough about that Embassy to even discuss it.
