Polls: Romney leads Obama 51% to 44% in trust to handling the economy

Sahit Muja: Mitt Romney continues to hold a seven-point lead in voter trust over President Obama when it comes to the economy, which by far is the number one voting issue. The candidates remain more closely divided in several other key issues, but voters are shifting towards Romney when it comes to national security.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters trust Romney more when it comes to handling the economy. Forty-four percent (44%) trust the president more.

Where did Obama's "Hope and Change" go? President Obama claims that government can't be fixed from inside and he wants to remain inside. President Obama is a master at getting what he wants by telling other people what they want to hear.

Tragically, " Yes We Can" had disastrous consequences. Obama's hope, hype and mythology, "Yes We Can" has lured tens of millions to vote for Obama in 2008. The hope, hype and mythology is dead. Obama's economic policies are now a nightmare for the U.S economy.

President Obama has fallen tragically short of fulfilling prophetic legacy "Yes We Can", "Change We Can Believe In", "fighting for poor and middle class working people"

Mmhmmm yes. Obama is literally God, only better.

Doesn’t matter that our economy is broken, doesn’t matter about Mitt’s history in rejuvenating companies or anything else.

Barack Obama is God.

The GOP Super Pac ads are starting today. They are hitting Obotulism hard on this issue during the Redskins-Bucs game.

Ok, let’s see if I have this..

An overwhelming majority of the country believes the economy is the most important issue.

A good sized majority seems to think Romney will be better at fixing it than Obama.

But Obama is “way ahead” in the polls.

That is why these polls showing Obama ahead are pure BS. No one is going to say “The economy sucks, I can’t find work, Obama’s foreign policy sucks, but hey what the hell, he looks so darn cute in his little suit Im going to vote for him again.”

Phew.

They were only a point apart a week ago, it’s widening again. Must have been a blip.

Can't be true. You have the utterly unreliable Rasmussen, which claims this, or the STERLING STANDARD, All American Economic Survey at CNBC, which shows Obama ahead of Romney on the economy at 43% to 34%!!!!

Lol

“The GOP Super Pac ads are starting today. They are hitting Obotulism hard on this issue during the Redskins-Bucs game.”

This is excellent news because there have been no negative ads by the Romney folks to date. The PACs have over 100 million in their coffers between them, more than the Romney campaign. And they are the ones to do the negative advertising which cannot be directly attributable to the Romney campaign. It is the negative ads that will drive Obama’s numbers back down. I hope they continue it throughout the campaign.

Also, Romney leads on terrorism, amongst Catholics (last I saw), has higher approval raring, much larger enthusiasm factor, and other categories, yet the generic “who’s ahead”, Hussein leads? None of it adds up.

What is the examiner.com?

Is it like a glorified wikipedia? I’ve heard of the Washington Examiner, but am not sure about just “examiner”.

I'm beginning to believe that Rasmussen is just a full of crap as the rest. Labor Day he told us Republican registration is 37.6% and Democrat registration is 33.3%. Yesterday he says Democrat will have a 2 to 4 point lead going into the election. Well Scotty Boy were you lying then or lying now or a little of both.
Let's go with the Leftist Third Way who found so many Democrats missing from registration rolls across the country they couldn't stand talking about exact numbers and just reported on a few Down 4.5% in
Florida, down 4.9 percent; in Iowa down 9.5 percent and in New Hampshire, it's down down 19.7 percent.
And Gallup says Republican enthusiasm is 16 points higher than Democrat enthusiasm. Who's lying here the Far LEFT THIRD WAY the LEFTIST Gallup that was threatened by Axelrod or Rasmussen who contradicts himself?

It should be a much bigger margin for Mitt, especially if Mitt is, really, going to be a conservative, instead of pretending to be a conservative.

Mitt Romney continues to hold a seven-point lead in voter trust over President Obama when it comes to the economy, which by far is the number one voting issue.

And the fact that Romney leads Obama on this issue by only 7 points shows that he and his campaign have not done nearly enough to keep the spotlight on the job Obama has done with the economy. Through historic levels of useless spending, through the economic devastation to come because of Obamacare, through levels of debt exceeding anything ever seen or dreamed of in human history, Obama has done more damage to the US economy than any other president we've ever had.

It's true that no president has ever had a news media as slavishly committed to helping him as this one, but it's also true that there have never been more alternatives for people to get their news and information. Romney, Ryan and their people need to pound on Obama's job on the economy, unemployment, the economy, food prices, the economy, prices at the pump. And the economy.
