Outrageous!… Obama Administration Blames “Friendly Fire” Attacks in Afghanistan on US Troops
Gateway Pundit ^ | 9/30/12 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 09/30/2012 5:41:15 PM PDT by Nachum

This is unbelievable. The Obama Administration blamed the “friendly fire” attacks in Afghanistan on US troops.

U.S. Army specialist Mabry Anders (L), who was killed in an attack by an Afghan army soldier in Afghanistan on August 27, 2012, is pictured with his mother Genevieve Woydziak (C) and his stepfather Troy Woydziak in this undated handout family photo obtained by Reuters September 26, 2012. The “insider attack” also took the life of another U.S. soldier, Sergeant Christopher Birdwell. (REUTERS/Anders Family)

The New York Post reported, via Pat Dollard:

Afghan security forces, our supposed allies, are slaughtering American troops. Thirty-three soldiers have been killed by “green on blue” attacks this year alone. The situation is so bad that the training of Afghan forces has been temporarily suspended.

How has the Pentagon responded?

By blaming our troops.

Top officials believe culturally offensive behavior is the motivation behind the killings, so it’s stepped up Islamic sensitivity training for our troops.

A few days following Major Hasan’s slaughter of 13 and before they came up with the “workplace violence” narrative, I said to my Tea Party group on our website, “I’ll bet they have the nerve to characterize this as “friendly fire”.I almost didn’t believe it myself; now it looks like I was a couple years early.

We have jihadi infiltrators and sympathizers running the military. They are killing US soldiers, naming vets terrorists and they allowed the murder of the Libyan ambassador by ignoring intellegence, too.

How can anyone not see this? Where are the Republicans? The pattern is clear as a bell.

I will not have my basic God-given Freedoms curtailed by the outrageous behavior of the bloodthirsty adherents to a Seventh Century tribal cult. After 14 centuries, Islam remains the principal enemy of Western Civilization.

Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

“There’s a percentage [of attacks] which are cultural affronts,” Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey

DUmbsey again. How did he work this into his schedule of calling private citizens to intimidate them into silence?

US and Afghan forces clash, leaving 5 dead

He needs to get busy because our troops attacked some more Afghan regulars.

This article is very weakly sourced, quoting only unidentified "earlier" interviews" for some quotes, with no source at all cited for the comment above.

The Army Times had an article a few weeks back with General Allen making the same claim and also saying the Afghans were stressed from fasting for Ramadan (sp). It can be found at http://www.armytimes.com/news/2012/08/ap-general-says-ramadan-factor-attacks-082312/.

So who stirred up the Afghani muzzies? (April, 2011)

From the WSJ:

"Most Afghans learned about the Quran burning in Florida only when Mr. Karzai on March 24 (4 days after!) condemned the act as "a crime against the religion and the entire Muslim nation," called on the U.S. and the U.N. to bring the perpetrators to justice and demanded "a satisfactory response to the resentment and anger of over 1.5 billion Muslims around the world."

“There’s a percentage [of attacks] which are cultural affronts,” Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey said in a recent interview.

If you don’t want to be shot in the back by your Afghan training partners, the Pentagon advises, don’t offend their religious sensibilities. Don’t kick your feet up on a table, for instance, and never ask to see a picture of their wives and kids. “There’s a percentage [of attacks] which are cultural affronts,” Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey said in a recent interview. Dempsey echoes the concerns of Gen. Sher Mohammad Karimi, the Afghan National Army’s chief of staff, who earlier this month argued both sides need to do more to “teach” foreign troops Islamic traditions and values to reduce the chance of violent reactions to cultural slights. “It is our duty to teach this to them. Our indifference about these issues causes the incident,” he said.

Incredible. Dempsey is the same guy who called the pastor in Florida, Jones, to "encourage" him to drop support for the movie/video/trailer whateveritwas.

One of the first acts of this POS CIC in 2009 was to change the ROE for our troops - enemy gets first shot. Often refused air cover because there “might” be a civilian on the mountain - and our guys get killed. Our guys cant’ have their weapons loaded while in base. (Why do you think the AFghans are so successful?)

With Bush, the media ran photos of KIA’s (Killed in action) daily - and returning coffins. Seen any of that lately?

Do you even KNOW that our KIA’s more than doubled after his new ROE? EACH year has had a higher number - by far - of KIA’s than ANY previous year? And why DON'T YOU know! You depend on the media or the politicians to tell you?

If I can find this info, so can you. But who bothers?

If you can spare another 30 seconds out of your life, here's the run down.

http://icasualties.org/oef/

then, if any of you might even spare another few minutes (I do hope Dancing with the Stars isn't on) - you might be interested in this battle - which has been typical since 2009. The Marine recipient who disobeyed orders and went to help this pinned down platoon is now ret. and spitting mad - and has a book coming out.

The battle:

the book

http://www.marinecorpstimes.com/news/2012/08/marine-dakota-meyer-into-the-fire-book-blasts-army-medal-of-honor-082012/

well, hope I haven't taken you away from anything. Probably not. VERY few freepers have disturbed themselves over any of this in the past. Well, the ones that are still here. The ones that cared are mostly gone from FR now.

Do I sound irritated? Betch bippy. You take offense. Ask me if I care.

This comment sourced to Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey wasn't enough for you?

No, "in a recent interview" is not a solid citation.

A solid citation would tell you the who/what/when of the interview and where you can find it to read the comments in context.

Not including that sort of information about the "recent interview" is lazy, incompetent journalism.

And the most inflammatory comments, that I highlighted in my post, have no attribution whatsoever.

At this point I don't even consider Dempsey a perfumed prince, he's the powder puff that supports those princes and the turkey that masquerades as the CinC.

I'm sorry you have no concern for journalistic standards. It's news consumers of your ilk, who have allowed the profession to completely fall apart. If an article confirms your world-view, you don't particular care if it's well-sourced and structured.

A competent journalist will not tell you of a "recent interview" without providing the particulars of said interview.

It's a BASIC minimum of responsible journalism and it's a damn shame you don't demand it.
