Wall Street Prepares Clients for Obama Victory
CNBC ^ | Sunday September 30, 2012

Posted on 09/30/2012 6:22:58 PM PDT by Bigtigermike

As President Barack Obama widened his lead over Mitt Romney in polls this month, traders at hedge funds and investment firms began shooting emails to clients with a similar theme: It's time to start preparing for an Obama victory.

What many in the market worry about isn't that high earners may pay more in taxes if Obama is re-elected. It's gridlock in Washington come January, when more than $600 billion in spending cuts and tax hikes could kick in just as the country smacks into its borrowing limit again.

There is reason to expect a deal. If Obama wins, the Republican fight to make him a one-term president will be lost. With the elections over, there will be little reason or room for political posturing. House Republicans could finally decide to be more cooperative.

Preparing, yes. Expecting or hoping for, no.

If traders at hedge funds and investment firms don’t know how bad the economy is now, and how much worse it will be if Obama gets reelected, they are as willfully clueless as the so-called undecided.

It’s already old news, too, the GDP revision shows the economy so near recession there’s little difference if we were in recession.

Unscrupulous brokers (a redundancy?) will use any news to move their clients one way or the other in order to motivate them to make a change to their portfolio. In a week or two they’ll be calling them back saying - it now looks like Romney will win, so let’s adjust your portfolio again (and generate more trading commissions).

i too am surprised kudlow survives on CNBC. However, he does not lean on Obama per CNBC censors. However, kudlow’s radio program is far more critical of Zer0

I live in Up State NY, and where there were tons on Obama signs in the last election, I have yet to see one this time around. I am finding that very interesting.

Is it just a vicious political rumor that Obamadrones have been dedicated to take out homes with Romney Posters in their yards?

This is more of the MSM trying to make it sounds as if an Obama victory were inevitable, so we should all just stay home and might as well not bother voting for Romney.

This is nothing but more Dem dirty tricks, trying to suppress the anti-Obama pro-Romney vote.

I hope people just ignore this and make sure to get out and vote for Romney.

If Obama is reelected watch for a mass exodus of capital from the US and many of the rich to leave the country. I bet even Warren Buffet is squirreling away funds in offshore banks.

How Carter Beat Reagan

http://spectator.org/archives/2012/09/25/how-carter-beat-reagan/print

“Texas: In a story datelined October 8 from Houston, the Times headlined:

Texas Looming as a Close Battle Between President and Reagan

The Reagan-Carter race in Texas, the paper claimed, had “suddenly tightened and now shapes up as a close, bruising battle to the finish.” The paper said “a New York Times/CBS News Poll, the second of seven in crucial big states, showing the Reagan-Carter race now a virtual dead heat

What happened? Reagan beat Carter by over 13 points. It wasn’t even close to close.”

.... and so on....

Where are we, Molly?

I don’t know. I walk the same road I have walked every day of my life, but it has lead me to a place I can’t recognize. It all looks the same, but it’s all different. I feel trapped and I want out.

I do not like this place :(

I don’t like it either, And I can’t dwell on the ugliness of it all ‘cause I’ve got a job to do and that is to WIN IN NOVEMBER by pushing Romney over the finish line.

Can’t crowd my mind with unnecessary negative thoughts, got to keep focused on the prize. I hope all of you who feel the same know that you’re not alone. Put away your electronics and distractions...time is short and it must be used to the fullest in this fight for our freedom, liberty, our Constitution. None of us have a crystal ball to predict the future, and the tension and the unknown is enough to blow your mind, but I have to remember to give myself a big pinch of pain to bring me back to reality and set my mind straight. God bless us all...now we have some idea of know what soldiers go through mentally who are in a fight for their lives.

Yeah, itssme, your post is truth.

It’s hard to keep things in persepective these days. I think I lose sight once a day at least.

My mind is definitely blown by tension and the unknown.

I fear our enemy here is much greater than we know, but even if that is the case, we have two choices. Fight or be defeated. I’m not going out on my knees, that’s for damn sure. but I also think I’m going crazy at the same time.

May the light of Jesus Christ guide us all through these dark times.
