Economists reluctantly pick Romney
CNN Money ^ | Sept 30, 2012 | Chris Isidore

Economists think Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney would be better for the economy than President Obama. But they're not very enthusiastic about either of them.

Nine of 17 top economists surveyed by CNNMoney picked Romney when asked who's election would help the economy grow more. Only three picked Obama.

Five evidently realized that picking between two left-wingers won't solve anything.

Exactly.
There's some pretty vehement arguing/anger at those of us who are refusing to vote for Romney. {The usual "the other guy's worse" argument is, in this case, arguable; at least with Obama there's a polarizing effect and he hsa woken people up to government not doing its job -- I think a Romney win would mean a lot of people "going back to sleep" instead of working towards that mindset wherein they guard liberty against trespasses by government.}

I can’t disagree that if Romney wins and says the right things but governs as a “moderate”, there is a risk of conservatives going back to sleep. However, the error in your thinking is the assumption that there will be anything left of America to salvage after a second Obama term. There clearly will not be.

So quite simply, those of you who refuse to vote for Romney are nothing more than members of the same group that includes the “Obama phone” voters, the “war on women” voters, and the “he’s a nice guy” voters. With all due respect, like them you are completely oblivious to the true nature of our current situation.

There is no more time. If you decide to skip Romney based upon the mistaken idea that another Obama term will finally galvanize public opposition to liberal policies, you’re simply delusional. I don’t know what else to say; the evidence to the contrary of your opinion is abundant.

Ok, let's say Romney get's the election; I don't think there's anything he can do to reign in spending [after all, it is congress who does the budget.]
To think he's actually going to eliminate large sections of the government conveniently ignores the fact he's a statist.
His methodology WRT policies are, in fact, indistinguishable from that of a Fabian-socialist. (Take a look at his signing into law domestic partnerships as an example of his gradualism.)

Thinking that any person is preferable to Obama ignores the real issue: that of corrupt and out-of-control/unaccountable government. Look past the campaign-speeches, can you honestly tell me that the governor who appointed these judges has a heart for real justice?

CNN should have mentioned the 657 economists—including six Nobel laureates—who endorsed Governor Romney’s economic plan. You can find the statement and a list of the economists at www.economistsforromney.com.

"Obama is a hard core left wing ideologue who has no interest in entitlement reform"

Good because we don't need entitlement reform. We need a change in trade policy. We need to put back the import tariffs that our founding fathers believed in, that served this nation well and built it into an industrial power house.
