For the week just ended, the Obama campaign outspent Romney by a significant margin in key swing states. In Iowa, Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin, the Obama campaign spent $16.6 during the week of September 24th while Romney spent only $12.5 million.

This is exactly where we should be spending it. We need boots on the ground. The media distorts everything anyhow, and I, for one, flip the channels during commercials, so I don’t see any of them. I also automatically toss junk campaign mail. But I listen to people that knock on my door.

The problem is getting enough volunteers to do it. I live in California, where there is really no Romney presence since we have no chance of taking California. However, they are heavily encouraging volunteers to go to Reno to precinct walk. They also want us to make calls into swing states instead of bothering with calling California.

What can each of us do? Volunteer where we can, talk to everyone you know and get them to vote, send money, and pray.

For what it’s worth, last night on Fox Donald Trump told Hannity that he knows Romney’s advisors, and they are waiting till the last month to spend the money.

I think we’re talking effectiveness of tv ads.

I’ll be honest here. Most childrens cartoons are more compelling than the GOP ads I’ve seen to date.

Why should anyone watch the ads if they can’t come out and GRAB the attention of the viewer. If a candidate doesnt have the guts to run tough tv ads, do they have the guts to be president?

I live in california and have seen tons of Obama commercials
on the SCI-FI channel as well as TLC I can not stand it. I just turn the set off when I see them after I yell at the screen. Why so many in California supposed to be locked up for Obama.

I have NOT seen one Romney ad which I think is a shame.

Donald Trump said on Hannity last night that Romney had “tons of money” which he was going to start spending soon - I sure hope so........

Rush nailed this a year ago. He said GOP insiders were telling him that they cannot beat Obama this cycle, so the purpose of the GOP candidate this election was to raise money for Congressional races. It was reported a few weeks ago that Romney has given huge sums of money through various channels to support local House and Senate races, thus Obama had much more money on hand in spite of Romney’s fundraising advantage.

This is playing out exactly as Rush described - punt on the White house and try to win more Senate and House seats. Romney’s only jobs this election are to not be too controversial and raise money for the GOP.

This is apparent and concerns me. I hope that his money is going into ground game or something that is helpful, not just so fool consultants.

Mitt is frugal to the core...hope he loosens up the purse strings pretty quick. Absolutely want him in office so he can get this country back fiscally, but he has to get there first!

“Get lost troll.”

Not sure what has you bent out of shape, I’m just pointing out one theory why Romney is not spending as much as Obama in spite of his good fundraising.

The next line out of Rush’s mouth of course was to disagree with the GOP-e and he asserted that any Republican could beat Obama if he just tried to - a statement I agree with. Many conservatives like Rush (and me as well) have been at odds with how the GOP is approaching this election and that they’re putting an election at risk that should have been a slam dunk.

Not only tv, I’ve been seeing both their stinking mugs on my email sites and other pages since the beginning of the year. NOTHING from the GOP.

How do you know it is ‘at risk’? Do you know what Mitt’s plans are for spending (or not spending) money? The answer is NO so why do you bring up the idea that he is throwing the election?

Just a little word of advice, a Newbie should be careful about what he/she posts or you will quickly earn the title of a troll. Got it?

Tester here in MT is all over the Internet with banner ads. I can tell you from our ad budget it costs from $10.00 to $1000 depending on site to buy 100,000 banners that are on the screen when it opens.

Radio buys are good but TV? That costs 100 to 1000 times the Internet and if you're like me you TIVO 100% of the ads.

Theyre going to wait till the last month when Obama has defined who Romney is and most people who are committed to voting have made up their mind. I don’t think that’s a very good strategy.

Yep, I’ve seen his ads here in SoCal. What’s up with that? Isn’t Kalifornia in the bag for him?

Such a public announcement of “Carpet-bombing” after the Dem convention, when there was no need for such an announcement, was obviously a head-fake, causing Obama to spend even more money than he already had burned through over the summer. Mitt still has a big money advantage for the last five weeks (an eternity), and I would imagine you will see ads rev up during the debates. Meanwhile, Mitt has been spending heavily on ground game operations in some states, particularly Ohio and Virgnia. Keep the faith. Whoever Mitt is, and whatever he intends, we have to believe that the Bain Capital man understands one thing: how best to deploy money.

Always encouraging to hear how desperate BO is in CA. No BO bumper stickers to speak of here in CA-9 for blocks and blocks and blocks and blocks. Saw ONE BO window sign this evening in a neighborhood which contains Sec 8 housing. That’s it. Two BO bumper stickers. Where are all the BO enthusiasts answering the pollsters?

Obama ads are running a lot in San Antonio. Is Obama in trouble in Texas?

Just has a lot of money I guess, might as well use it to saturate the airwaves.
