"The Jerry Doyle Show The Jerry Doyle Show Published 1-Oct-2012 in TRN Central News

Central Point, OR – Today begins the first in a series of changes to bring talk radio firmly into the 21st century. For too long, we’ve had to choose between ratings and salability, but no longer. Today the 6th largest syndicated talk show in America replaces what was the 3rd largest show, and in so doing, stations will get more light and less heat, a show that they can sell locally with pride, but also a show that will respect its stations, advertisers and audiences with a brilliance that sets great shows apart from good ones.

The show that premieres today in the 3pm to 6pm Pacific (6pm to 9pm Eastern) slot has earned its place in the Talkers Magazine rankings as the 6th largest syndicated talk radio show in America, through merit. TRN Enterprises owns no stations – our shows have to earn their keep and stations love what this show does for them - through merit alone.

Today that show will jump several spots to become the new 3rd or 4th largest syndicated show in the United States.

Jet pilot, Wall Street investment banker for 10 years, Hollywood star for 12 years, former congressional nominee and now radio giant who has earned his right to this spot for close to 9 years. Jerry Doyle is the future of talk radio. He will bring massive audiences through word of mouth because he is brilliant and funny, showing both emotional and intellectual range that is beyond rare.

The Jerry Doyle Show is eminently saleable. He understands the advertising business like few others; Jerry is a triple-rated William Morris Agency voice-over artist who has voiced national ads for AT&T, Chevrolet, TGI Fridays, Anheiser-Busch, Panasonic, The US Armed Forces and many others.

Jerry will work with his stations reading their ads and promo’s, because he understands radio isn’t about host ego, it’s about high levels of performance, and it’s about business.

Jerry shows up 5 days a week, 3 full hours a day because his work ethic is second to none.

Mark Masters, CEO of TRN Enterprises, notes that, “Jerry Doyle is the vanguard of talk radio’s next evolutionary step, and he has been setting the standard for talk radio’s profitable, saleable and sustainable future for some time now, with commentary that is entertaining, memorable and responsible. Good work Jerry, as you jump from the 6th largest show to the 3rd largest show in America - you deserve this day – you have earned it.”

My absolute favorite radio talk show is the Red Eye Radio guys—they are the best. I get them in the middle of the night but they explain economics the best I’ve heard.

I was listening today and while the show isn’t bad, he’s no Mike Savage. I like Savage’s commentaries on history, religion, even food and culture.

I thought he’s Libertarian, well at least that’s what the topic of the show sounded like today.

All barns will be safe from burning with DOYLE, who lends us all the excitement of a damp tea towel. No earth will be moved.

I say this comparing him to crazy man Savage off his meds, but whom I respect, for his take no prisoners attitude that shows up at just the right time.

Is this Jerry Doyle the Garibaldi of B5?

Yes, the very same.

I’m pretty familiar with Jerry, his who originates from Vegas, which is where I live.

He’s pretty mellow, likes to poke fun at both sides and is more libertarian than conservative.

I think he resents the Republicans because he doesn’t feel he was given the support(money?) that he should have been given when he ran for Congress.

It’s not a bad show, but I do prefer Savage for sheer entertainment.

It's also ironic that Jerry Doyle's ex-wife Andrea Thompson (also of B5 fame, and NYPD Blue, too) also tried to break into the newsie business by anchoring on CNN Headline News for a year. She wasn't as successful as Doyle has become.

To: MaryLou1; All

They should have went with Jeff Kuhner...

Jerry Doyle is a good man who takes no BS and is not a GOP Liberal Plant Suck-Up like some of his counter-part radio hosts....but he can drone on and lose an audience

He has been on numerous Orlando radio stations in the past...but he cannot keep an audience....and is not kept on the air locally

The PR release by TRN was quite nasty towards Savage...and seems to try real hard to claim that Doyle will keep Savage’s audience. That will not happen.

Kuhner would have been a great replacement. He is a stronger conservative on many issues

Yep, my favorite character from Babylon 5. He’s a right-libertarian. He will drive most FReepers nuts because he is not afraid to criticize the GOPe (including Bush).

If he was the guy I was listening to tonight he sounded like a rino. He was saying that the republican party is too right and too white. It also needs to bring more diversity into its ranks. I changed the station in disgust while he was ranting against conservatives who complain about media bias and the rigged polls.

Jerry Doyle was an actor. He once made an appearance on “Moonlighting” because he looked so much like Bruce Willis (at the time anyway)
