GOP’s October surprise? - Source reveals "Jimmy Carter Strategy"
Salon.com ^ | OCT 1, 2012 | CRAIG UNGER

Posted on 10/01/2012 6:32:40 PM PDT by yellowhammer

According to a highly reliable source, as Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama prepare for the first presidential debate Wednesday night, top Republican operatives are primed to unleash a new two-pronged offensive that will attack Obama as weak on national security, and will be based, in part, on new intelligence information regarding the attacks in Libya that killed U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens on Sept. 11.

The source, who has firsthand knowledge of private, high-level conversations in the Romney camp that took place in Washington, D.C., last week, said that at various times the GOP strategists referred to their new operation as the Jimmy Carter Strategy or the October Surprise.

"...The source said that “there was quite a bit more” to the operation than simply revealing the intelligence regarding Libya. He declined to discuss what he described as the second phase of the operation."

So long as he also gives some friggin specifics about RR plans for the undecided voters. That is critical and luckily going to happen I believe per articles.

What?

No GHW Bush flying an SR-71 to Iran in the dead of night?

As tragic and horrific as this event was,
i have to ask if this strategy will play with the voters. Do they care that 4 people were murdered or do they have their hands out for “free”
obama goodies?

I would prefer their October surprise to have them somehow lift the video that the LA Times has which show obama hanging out with Hamas. That should make the election a slamdunk.

I have said many times that once enough people are on the dole it’s over for the Republicans. If Romney does win this thing it will likely be the last Republican President. The future demographics virtually guarantee democrats the Presidency.

We are all just boiling frogs trying to lower the temperature a few degrees

They will care if there is irrefutable evidence they knew.

That said, I question this story for the following reasons. First, it’s from Salon. Second, the source is obviously a lefty GOP operative since he is quoted in the article as saying it shows the campaign is out of touch with Americans.

Same thing was said leading up to the 2010 midterms and the result? One of the biggest wins the GOP has ever seen. The demographics are changing but I have confidence our party will adapt.

What you said BUMP.
Or, as Dear old Dad always said, “Once the parasites outnumber the hosts, it’s all over. The Democrats win.”

They are just publishing this in an effort to get ahead of GOP attacks over Libya.

The real attack we need is by Romney. We will see.

Exactly. The Dem and GOP have both been here fighting each other for 160 years. They are not going away. Yes, the world changes. And guess what, the parties adapt. The GOP may have a few struggling elections, but it will once again shift toward their favor as they adapt and learn how to reach groups that now seem impossible to reach.

Some patriot within the national intelligence community will leak it out, and get the Obama team in trouble. They are holding back something very, very bad and will be very, very damaging if it comes to light, about Benghazi and some other areas. Obama is EXTREMELY VULNERABLE on foreign policy, too.

The demographics are changing but I have confidence our party will adapt pander, ie., become "Democrat lite" even more than they already are.

For example, your party has already said they will keep some of Ubamacare, and are fine and dandy with a sodomized military. It's all Kabuki theater. None for me, thanks.
