I didn't go to high school in NYC, but I grew up in the NYC area and it sounds like you and I met a lot of the same people over the years. LOL.

Great post, and I think it highlights a point that Robert Bork made in one of his books (I think it was The Tempting of America). He suggested that the most destructive character-related "affliction" that any human being could have is boredom, and your post demonstrates that point very well.

Those people were extremely common all throughout the NYC area. I disliked them then and I dislike them now. The unfortunate thing, however, is that they ended up not simply by disrupting their high school or college, but in charge of the country.

It’s like a high-school bad dream come true...
