Our local Gannett newsrag has made their online forums and replies to editorial and letters accessable only through Facebook. The reason stated was to raise the level of civility. Topics which used to get hundreds of posts now get a few dozen at best, and others only a few.
They have succeeded in their real goal of quieting dissent from the regime’s dictates.
The Aiken Standard, the local rag for Aiken County, SC, unveiled a “new look” on Monday, 10/1.
Among the new, “improved” features: If you want to do any commenting, you need a Facebook account.
Guess I’ll quit commenting. Freedom of the press is no more.
